As defeufeu has pointed out, the only .GOB format you're reading about online is entirely different, it just has the same extension. I came across a forum saying LucasArts has used the .GOB format, for an entirely different purpose. So it's safe to say, it's just not worth looking.

Everyone sees to have missed the fact people would have to be willing to recreate songs for the DS, and without any software for this at the moment, it would be quite hard. All the custom songs at the moment (and the tools used to create them) use 5 notes, rendering them incompatible (I assume, unless you can just miss out the 5th fret when playing).
Anyway, it would be a good opportunity. Though I'm looking at GHIV Wii really. VV confirmed DLC will be downloaded onto your SD card, which means songs will be read off there too. Anyone with a brain will realise what opportunities this creates.

i've been thinkin about that for weeks now, the second i heard about DLC wii.

they couldnt have stored it on the wii memory becuase they are like 34MB each. i dunno if thats for a pack or just one though. (according to when you download from 360 (did it on a mates coz i only have a crappy none downloadable song haver wii XD))

anywayas, considering that they managed to do it for GH3 to hack songs onto a wii using the disc, think how easy its going to be to just replace a file with the same name but different files in it with a different song and chart!

then again, i'm sure that activision arent stupid enough to to make it that easy... i mean, why have downloadable songs at all if they are so easy to hack

AND please can someone tell me where to get the patch for OT? thanks

EDIT: found it, no problems now

I kind of figured they weren't the same kind of files internally, but it was worth a shot. I think the gfc is the charting, since it is a very small file. I'll unpack it or something....I'm probably going to give up on this and continue with my SMB hack.

Well I know a place where you could find some good haxerz or programmers, the DSO chann on IRC, just DL dsorganize and go on the IRC client. There are alot of people on there who know what there doing, (if you know who to talk to). Ill be on later to night around 10pm or later maybe11:30pm, thats roughly 14-15 hours from now, (for those people who are not in the same time zone as me). So if your there ill be there and we could talk more about the GHDS cuztomz. Hopefully I can find someone to help us!

Yeah, I made a comment in discussion and it got deleted!!
you are obviously far away from understanding this. So I've removed your comment since there was no real point to it. No offense, but I just to keep things clean.

Also, I've extracted 59 oggs from the rom, but it's like they are all guitar parts, can someone with some time give a hand to identify all of them ?

We've already figured out the order for the ogg files. Each song has 2, and they go in alphabetical order. 1 and 2 are All-Star's ogg file, 3 and 4 are All the Small Things ogg files, and it goes on like that.
Then I guess they are not extracted very well...
Becuase, while looking in the arm9.bin, I discovered that the file name's were actualy the names of the songs... Or weren't they?

@Deufeufeu:
So it looks at the file size, every song?
So is trimming and customizing even possible?

just a quick follow up, I've extracted songs and charts, but seeing ccfman2004 post I think I'll stop working on it now that I know that there are other people to handle it. I don't want to race or anything like that...
