I can't beat the game at all like this, lol. I'm actually considering buying the game for the hell of it.

I tried the patch and using lefty flip greatly increased comfort and usability for me (I'm right-handed but using the lefty flip puts ABXY in a much more comfortable position)

The only thing I can't stand is how the yellow/red fret controls are reversed, whether you choose color flip or whatever your ds's position is, you'll always end up with the yellow/red fret on the left but mapped to the right button and the other fret opposite on the screen and on the controls.

If they could reverse that then it would be much much simpler to play this.

I'm working my way through Expert. 5-starred everything on every other difficulty. Using the Guitar Grip of course [IMG]

In my opinion, buying the game is really worth it. New ds games usually cost like $39.99. Guitar Hero On Tour Costs $49.99. Only $10 for a guitar grip, pick, and awesome rocking out? worth it. Since the replay value is high and theres a chance other guitar hero ds games might come out, why not just buy one game this time around, lol.

You're supposed to use the xayb buttons, not the D-pad.

I can't get past greek arena either, but I've only played it in easy mode so far, haven't got round to trying medium yet, but the problem is when you get to greek arena, a lot of the songs require you to hit green and red at the same time, but green is down and red is up so it's impossible to hit them both at the same time.

btw I just wanted to ask anyone who's tried the add-on and the d-pad hack: is it much easier with the add-on, and is it worth buying?

Well, think of it this way:
You have a button hack, where it's hard to tell which button is for which fret, you can't press two at a time, and can barely play through medium.

    -or-

You've got the attachment, can play it just like guitar hero, you know where the fret buttons are, and have the ability to make it through all modes will full enjoyment and no frustration of having to guess the D-pad buttons.

    Do the math.

Yes but I have to admit it's quite an enjoyable experience without the grip, especially once you've gotten used to all of the buttons, and plus all the bad reviews for this game, maybe the answer to the question: is this really worth dishing out £45 after all? isn't as obvious as you make it out to be

£45?? Where are you getting the figure from? It's £29.99 on Amazon, Play and even HMV. That's the price of a normal DS game.
I've only seen the IGN review, in which it got 9/10. Who has given it a bad review so far?

    gamespot gave it a 6.0

Amazon? I'm talking about real shops, for example GAME is selling it for £39.99 and so was HMV

and before you say it's not I was in both of those shops yesterday

I've cleared the game on Easy and Medium using the button hack, and I'm halfway through Rooftop on Hard. It's actually surprisingly playable when you get used to it.
Also, thinking about making a video and uploading it to YouTube.
Edit: I'm at Greek Arena now, Hard.
