Hacking Guitar Hero 5, Guitar only works sometimes...

Okay, i didn't have much trouble getting the game to play... using Hermes 222/223 v4 and usbloader gx, however my guitar only works sometimes and i cant seem to pinpoint what determines if its going to work or not just yet. I know its not the guitar because it works fine in Smash Hits, World Tour and Metallica. The screen shows that the guiatar is registering (push red, etc, to continue) but it doesn't respond to any button presses at all, is this a bug in Hermes 223? I've looked for similar posts but a search only pulls up everyone's troubles getting the game to even play.... I guess its worth mentioning im refering to a Nyko FrontMan guitar here.

i bought one of those and took it back 5 mins later with out opening the box trust me the front man sucks hard....
