Personally, I don't like Popstation GUI simply because it only supports ISO files (unless more compatibility was added in a later version) and most of my dumps are CUEs, etc. I use Simple Popstation GUI 2 beta. It's got support for ISO, IMG, CUE, BIN, and PBP files. You can add all your images, preview the EBOOT, etc. And it has an interesting button. tongue.gif
Also, I use this for my gameboot images while popsdb is down. Just some useful information for you guys
PSX2PSP converted my Final fantasy VII bins to isos just fine.
When you converted the 3-disk game into 1 file, how did the game react when you reached that point in the game where you switch disks?

That message was over two years old.If you want to test it out then go ahead. FFVIII is on PSN so theres some ways on getting it (PSN, MediaGo, Etc...)

>.< I hope it will work flawlessly! I don't want to depend on my Wii to play Playstation games I can't get because they are so rare to find.

Yep. But many games don't work well.
I'd tell you more, but this is the PSP forum.

Any ideas about the 1.87 GB eboot conversions it does for certain games? It did NOT happen before with these same exact rips (I made them myself). The only thing that changed is the OS, which is now a Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit, instead of a Home Premium 64-bit.
Any ideas on this one? I still can't figure out what causes it and how to resolve the problem.
I tried dumping the discs again, they didn't worked. I tried downloading the discs, those didn't work either. Of course the 1.87 GB eboots don't even work. But it's also weird how a simple, 150MB game goes up like that. I'm also pretty sure that the first time I converted them (half a year ago), I could play them/they were small. Don't tell me no one else got this problem before, there must be some kind of solution... right?

Another game tricked me...
This time, it's Mickey's Wild Adventure.
A game that is also an audio CD. How should I rip it so that the program actually recognizes it as a full rip and doesn't leave out the music?
EDIT: nevermind, I think I found a fixed program that let's me convert CDDA games.
EDIT2: that didn't work out at all.
Downloaded CloneCD, ripped the disc (I decided to rip it as a game disc, but I think a data disc would be better suited, idk), tried to convert it...
I heard music on the title screen, but not while playing. Sounds are still there.

Just to be 100% clear on this, the psx games on the PSN are always EBOOTS and will work regardless of firmware/plugins?

No.

They're always eboots but some may have issues with older firmware. Also giving a green light on all plugins is impossible....most probably is the closest accurate answer.

Use popsloader to cycle through the available pops versions until you find a compatible version. If that doesn't work blame the original ISO.

Also why ME rather than PRO?

ME 1.8 semed to be the latest version whats the latest PRO? I read somewhere that the POPs was included in the firmware now? I have Crash Bandicoot fully working with no issues its just MK Trilogy i cannot get working it works on my Emulator just fine.

pops is the PS1 emulator that's present in the PSP firmware. However, it's different between firmwares as compatibilities are altered (so for instance 3.40 plays some games that 3.72 and 5.00 won't). These bonus compatibilities aren't always needed for all games, but for some it's necessary to "load" a game using a different pops version from an alternative firmware (whilst remaining on your current firmware).popsloader is used to run a different version of pops from the one you have in your current firmware to enhance the PS1 compatibility you have....it doesn't matter than some games run fine on 6.60....many won't, so running through previous pops versions is the way to go until you successfully run the game. MK trilogy seems to require a good original image and 3.72 pops.

As for ME, it's always been more buggy than PRO, and as for releases, PRO is constantly being updated in Nightly builds. If you're happy with ME that's fine, but just looking at the changelog's of the two firmware's you'll get an idea of the merits of both.

Could you PM me the link to the nightly builds of PRO please :-D i will try 3.72 pops i have it on here but every one so far gets to the choose your destiny then freezes on loading the fights.

EDIT: 3.72 pops is the same :-(

EDIT 2: Ok its working i found a download for pops v4 that works for me :-D

Is there a workaround/solution for PS1 games that have the soundtrack on tracks 2-xx and the actual game on track 1? The games themselves work fine, but the missing bg music on games such as "Loaded" and "Street Fighter Alpha"really detract from the game. inb4 burn the audio tracks to cd and play them on a different device in the background.
