For those of you looking forward to playing GTA V on your PC, it looks like there's some bad news. On the bright side, though, you should be used to that by now.

GTAV for PC will be arriving on April 14th at retail and as a digital download. Our apologies to PC gamers worldwide who have been counting down the days until the launch of the game, but a bit more time is needed to ensure that the game is as polished as possible, and to make certain that both Heists and the GTA Online experience are ready to roll out on day one for PC. As a gesture of thanks for your understanding, we will grant anyone who has pre-ordered the game an additional $200,000 in-game cash for use in GTA Online.

Well, that sucks. But hey, knowing Rockstar's history of PC ports, it's guaranteed to be...

Oh. Ohhhh. Oh.

So either microsoft or sony (or both) keep paying to delay the port. Hmm...okay, then.

...

You know there's something terribly wrong with this industry if news like this passes like a "yet another day at the office" kind of tidbit.

I get the feeling the game is ready enough to be released, but they just want to make the initial release a really good one. There's probably also some scope creep. Fair enough I suppose, though saddening for the people who just want to play.

That's some near conspiracy theory level shit right there.

How about we all entertain the idea that maybe, just maybe Rockstar doesn't want to repeat the poorly optimized mess that was GTA IV? I'd rather they take an extra six months if it means a polished PC version of the game. Considering Rockstar doesn't seem to be too terribly familiar with quality PC development, I'd imagine it's just taking more time than they thought to iron out the experience.

It's probably because they don't want to pull a GTAIV again where it was terrible even on really good hardware. I don't blame them, honestly. I'd be willing to delay the launch of my own game if I wanted to ensure it was completely polished up.

You do know that the PS4 and xbone are pretty much stripped PC's, right? I'm no developer, but porting between different platforms is easier than ever. And considering that the game was originally released roughly 1.5 year ago, you're not convincing me they managed to create decent PS3, PS4, xbox360 and xbone versions without even managing anything other than "a poorly optimized mess" on a PC.

If there is a game worth waiting for its GTA V. Would people rather have a broken shitpile of a game or something that gets delayed and actually works on release?

MS or Sony paying Rockstar to delay the port? That is the crown jewel of dumb comments in a thread filled with dumb comments so far.

Have patience kiddies, it will be worth it.

I have known games that I would have waited another year or so for to be released so they would iron out any bugs or flaws. There has been tons of games where I wish they released it later. So I am going to say Rockstar is doing this because they want to give us the best experience possible. Maybe they will give us some new content too, that seems like that is a feasible thing to do. I am patiently waiting for this game to come out.

If they released it buggy: If you want another GTA4, that's how you get another GTA4. Rather have major bugs gone than tweaking everything to make it run.

^ This. I'd much rather have a solid release delayed a few weeks than an absolute buggy shithole like AssCreed Unity was, or GTA IV beforehand. It sounds more like Rockstar actually learned from their previous experience of GTA IV.

But ooooooooooooh noooooooooo, it's totally bad news that it's being delayed "cuz lel $sny r pai dem lel"
