More like Blowhio, am i right?
(sorry, Pennsylvanian here)

Blowhio? I don't get it :( I do get that the Penn State can't touch the Buckeyes unless it's the coaches kids :)

Actually, I lived in Media/West Chester area for many years back in the late 80's - Early 90's.

That guide is aimed for an older cart with notorious contact issues, but the basics should be the same for any of them, just getting the contacts to press more firmly together.

I need to raise the contacts .. not happening with this casing :( I'm just going to buy 2 cheap ones and give my daughters friend 1 of these for her 3ds and let my son have the other for his dsi :)

Thanks, you were a great help on finally solving this issue!

I know you would spit on it if it was for you, but for my kids, would that be a cheap solution to just playing roms?

Let me present two situations.

1 - Buy a $20 cart.

2 - Buy a $10 cart, then when it stops working deal with your kids complaining until the next $10 cart gets there. Repeat as needed.

Notice the lack of the word "hypothetical". We have a cart whitelist for a reason, this is a very common occurrence.

Kids complaining, priceless.... You won that argument easily :) So I don't read 18 pages again on your thread... can you link me a few (free shipping is a plus, time is not an issue in shipping).

Yeah, we get a lot of parents on the forum, so a lot of our advice is geared on getting everything right the first time and preventing issues. An ounce of prevention, etc.

The cart from r4ids.cn is considered the go-to budget cart (like $20 in US/import shops) since the team is one of the few who updates older models when possible. As usual prices vary from that baseline, shops that are a few bucks less tend to be chinese shops where shipping is longer, more expensive shops tend to be nearer the US/UK and use way faster shipping, and if you're willing to order just the cart without the box it can get pretty cheap too.

No box, bare cart, etc: http://www.zhuzhuchina.com/store/pr..._5_compatible_wood_rev_c_rts_max_1_piece.html
Full case, fast shipping: http://www.realhotstuff.com/R4i-Gold-3DS_p_86.html
Box, midrange, no clue on shipping speed personally: http://nds-card.com/ProShow.asp?ProID=476

etc.

Going with the 1st one.. Kids careless about a box :)
