Just an opinions thread. What do you think is the greatest PC game of all time and why? Doesn't have to be an exclusive, as long as it's on PC.

My pick for this spot is Half-Life 2. Amazing graphics and animation for the time, great AI, accurate physics, high production value, a good story (which many FPS's lack nowadays), and stellar voice acting. A highly recommended game if you haven't already played it.

I'm not sure if it counts as "greatest", but the one I most enjoyed... *points at signature*

Chef Boyardee's Barkley, Shut Up and Jam: Gaiden, Chapter 1 of the Hoopz Barkley SaGa, even if it's really similar to Shaq Fu RPG. Lucasfilm adventure games come close, though.
Edit: Minesweeper is also notable for me as being the game I have spent the most time playing.

I may be blinded by nostalgia, but fuck it. Warcraft 3: The Frozen Throne it is. A hell of a lot single-player content, great multiplayer still played today and was one of the first games to have DotA-styled maps. (DotA All-Stars  ). Blizzard, stop milking your WoW and give us a sequel to this!

I never understood the greatest PC title ever. I mean, a console's best title has a much smaller and distinct library available. With the PC, we have clear decades full of titles to choose from, all of which offer something particularly unique or great.

There's lots of really good ones... Hard to choose just one.

Aliens versus Predator 2: Gold Edition
    Sim City 3000
    Roller Coaster Tycoon: Gold Edition
    Counter Strike 1.6
    Halo: Combat Evolved
    Portal
    Warcraft III
    Starcraft
    Braid
    Minecraft

There's a bunch of really good indie's nowadays as well, can't remember them all off my head.

AOE 2 or AOE 3 for me. Or Diablo 2. Or Titan Quest.

    The Void
StarCraft 2 (Wings of Liberty as I personally think Heart of the Swarm overpowered things a little bit too much)

Seriously, show me any other game like it.
I'd also mention Unreal Tournament '99. 14 years old, and still fun to play. (and these days it'll even run on your toaster)

    Warcraft 2
    StarCraft
