Im gonna have to go with Final Fantasy, most of the series has a very good and interesting storyline. I have gotten drawn into Final Fantasy games more times than I can count. The characters personalities are also made pretty good (well, after FFIV...). The addition of voice overs made this even better.
Final Fantasy also holds some of the best video game music in my opinion that for some reason won't leave my head no matter how hard I try

Zelda would be my next choice, most games of the series are just simply genius.

Pokemon but for the love of god don't hit me

Back in 1998 Pokemon Red and Blue took control of our society and you can't question that. Still one of the best games ever made.

HOWEVER, I said back in 1998 (8 years ago now

). I grew out of Pokemon after Silver.

Pokemon SUCKS lol j/k :-P it is probably one of the best handheld RPGs ever created in the account you can just train and train and once you beat it get like 50+ hours in it or more.. Children of Mana DS took me 10 hours to beat...GO ZELDA!!

Well, I would've voted for Pokemon or Resident Evil except they've really been sucking it hard lately (with the exception of RE4). I was around when these franchises first started out and they were great. They stayed great for a while, and then they occasionally started failing. Resident Evil 4 has restored my hope in the Resident Evil franchise, however, and I can't wait to for the next installment! Pokemon however is making sick to my stomach with it's 1000+ creature roster (which grows day by day!)

Remember when there were only 51 Pokemon? Those were the M***** F****** times...

Sad but true - gotta be Zelda - every new game I wait for, play, adore and play again. Apart from the slightly disappointing Wind Waker, the series is flawless!!
