To the window, to the Wallz.

I know nothing about the guy. I hope it's a good pick.
Of the list of contenders, I think he's stands to have the most broad appeal to the general public at large. He has also demonstrated really strong political instincts thus far and has a lot of charisma.

Walz has actually said and done a number of things that lefties like. He was a teacher and is very good at connecting with the youth. He also pushed for policies such as free school lunches and free college admittance for children from poor families.

On the flipside, he has a folksy rural American vibe to him that could land well in swing states. He's funny and jovial, but not in a way that feels fake or insincere as with most politicians. He's a strong Christian, but he has used his faith in a positive and empathetic manner towards policies such as LGBTQ and women's rights.

He also served in the Army National Guard for 24 years. He was an opponent of the Iraq War. He also opposed military strikes on Syria in 2013 when Obama was considering war there. Recently he has been calling for a permanent cease fire and two-state solution for Palestine. He seems to have a level head regarding foreign policy and his career should hopefully be able to appeal to military personnel, both active and veterans.

I'll be shocked if he doesn't utterly bury weirdo Vance and shit on his grave in the VP debate.

As far as whether he was the best pick to help Kamala win in key states, I can't say yet. Personally speaking, he's the best and most satisfying choice for me among the contenders. He has enhanced the appeal of Kamala's campaign for me. But we'll see if that appeal carries over to the rest of the electorate.

She actually picked Walz? LMFAO The governor that let Minneapolis burn when the BLM was happening, signed laws catering to illegal migrants, giving them free healthcare, tuition ect.

What a duo one enabled the burning down of his own state and the other person advocated bailing out the people who did it.

Gotta be fair: I've not heard from him either.

Sounds like fun. So a southern Sanders who'd been in the army? :P

From what I've heard from friends who live in Minnesota, he's generally been a strong governor passing strong progressive policy.

As is tradition, time to see how many people without the US flag come into this thread and cry about politics they don't understand

Sounds like you follow DeSantis on how he described it. Not a good look for you.

Incidentally, Walz was one of the (if not the first) people who started the "MAGA are weird" thing. It's such a simple word, but it has managed to get under their skin and trigger them in a way that calling them racist, fascist etc etc hasn't. Probably because such a large portion of the GOP base actually identify with those terms in a positive context. The term "weird" however is an innately unpleasant label for most people who want to present as "normal" (which even racists and fascists want to be), but it's also very abstract and difficult to both define and defend against. Even though it's ultimately pretty easy for actually "normal" people to understand in this context (Walz even straight up defined it as "ugly and offensive behavior that no one likes being around from people who won't mind their own business and leave others in peace"). Again, this has been a great showing of strong political instinct on Walz's part, and it has now become a key and very effective part of Democratic strategy against MAGA.

Thanks for proving to us all once again that you don't have ANY fucking clue whatsoever about how all of these things have gone down or how any of it works. None whatsoever. And from a political standpoint, you're one of the weirdest people here. Weirdo.

White, relatively unknown, inoffensive, vanilla, not (currently) tied to any scandals. Could be worse.

Prove that this happened
During the deadly 2020 riots in Minnesota, Gov. Tim Walz, a Democrat, delayed sending in the state national guard. His daughter openly supported the riots on social media and appeared to have passed intel onto rioters she received from her father.

The good thing about Kamala and this guy is there is a lot of stuff they did and say and will be use against them.

Most of the entire internet

And... The Post Millennial as your source?:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

Not to mention. Why are you pushing anything about Walz timing on calling in the National Guard, while crickets from you on Trump not calling in the National Guard AT ALL on J6. You're just flat out weird. Weirdo.

Walts daughter was telling rioters that the National Guard wasn’t going to be deployed and that they were free to keep burning buildings.

I don't know why you think this is some gotcha moment, but he asked the protestors to stop destroying and burning things down first instead of forcefully using the national guard. It wasn't until things really got worse that he had no other choice but to send them in. This is just one thing that he did poorly and he's learning from it.

Walz's done way more good like legalizing recreational marijuana, passed universal background checks for guns, expanded LGBTQ protections, tuition-free college for low incomes, and free school breakfast and lunch for schoolkids in Minnesota.

So far, all you've been doing is nitpicking and putting things out of context like some other WEIRDOS out there. And you still haven't given examples of what Harris and Walz have done that's WORSE than what Trump has done.

"that they were free to keep burning buildings." Wow, making up what she didn't say. Another thing weirdos would do. She never said to freely burn them. It seems like she didn't want things to escalate further and didn't want misinformation to spread and cause more fear and panic.
