I recently bought a Wiikey and it finally arrived the other day. I have been trying to find someone to mod it for me in the Houston area but had no luck, so now it looks like im forced to try and mod it myself. Problem with it though is that i have no prior modding experience. Any ideas?

If you want to play Brawl (the North American version) when it comes out, then just hold off on installing the Wiikey right now, at least until a working patch comes out.

the soldering job itself shouldnt be too hard... make sure you know what you are doing when you begin though. also i recommend using wires so you can detach the chip easily later if necessary.

I have been looking for the same thing (Im also in the Houston area), but I might just end up getting my father to do it (he use to solder many things as a kid, so he has experiance)

March 9th, 2008.

If a Firmware doesn't get released by then, I am going to uninstall my chip.

Man, I gotta find someone that will do a ON/OFF switch mod for my Wiikey, but first I gotta find out if it was quick soldered or wired.

I had my Wiikey installed back in June or July, so I didn't really think about needing a switch.

I tried contacting my installer, but he apparently has stopped modding, so I have to find another person who is in my area. Hopefully he starts up again so I can get my switch.
