Got a newly updated switch v1 to mod is v19.0.1 usable currently?

I know there's probably plenty of threads similar to this but just want a quick answer.

It's a xmas present for friends kid he's just bought, needs it modded.

Is Atmosphere etc. able to work fully and run backups etc with the current beta patches available or is it a waiting game at moment.

Xmas day looms..

tl;dr: Probably need a modchip. Unless you're very lucky and win the serial number lottery.

I have an unpatched v1 and I'm on firmware 19.0.1, Atmosphere 1.8.0, Hekate 6.2.2, sys-patch 1.5.4.
I only play Switch games on it (i.e. no emulators, no cheats, bunch of overlays etc.) and I haven't run into any issue so far. The games I play are mostly first party Nintendo games with a couple of 3rd party ones, so I can't say that all of the games with their latest updates run perfectly fine. For games that require Nintendo ID linked, you can use linkalho to create a fake ID and that's pretty much it.

Thanks, that was all I wanted to hear. A sensible reply from someone actually using the newest firmware.

Was what I had ascertained from cursory search, just wanted to hear a first hand account.

I guess I might as well update to 19.0.1 | AMS 1.8.0 | E + Hekate 6.2.2 as well
