Actually, it'll be more than 12 hours since I never factored in delays etc etc. Last time I went on a plane was last year and my Advance Wars DS on the M3 CF saved me from boredom.

That was back when I only had a 512mb card so I can only say that with my 1gb micro SD card, I have more choices... but what to play....

Phoenix Wright (all 3 series) if you haven't played it already. (Heck, replaying them is just as fun)
Anno 1701
Final Fantasy XII
Rune Factory
Picross

These games take awhile to complete, and it should adequately occupy your time.

What's a game with a decent amount of card games?

I used to play solitaire all the time and I was wondering which one is the best for the DS?

final fantasy tactics advance (best gba game)
aaaand fire emblem
okay, those are all gba games, but hey, it doesn't get much better

Try to finish FF1 on Dawn of Souls before your Plane trip is finished.

make sure you keep it on the lowest light setting because I don't think the DS lasts 12 hours without a charge anyway

and my reccomendation is dragon quest monsters: joker

Long Games:

Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker
Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings
Magical Starsign
Each Phoenix Wright Episode (So all 3 games together will be an overkill)
Pokemon Diamond / Pearl

When are you taking the trip?
If it's after the release, then take Advance Wars: Days of Ruin with you.

Otherwise you'll have lots of fun with Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings

If you want games that last a long time, Take...

Bomberman Land Touch
Final Fantasy Fables Chocobo Tales
Dragon Quest Heros Rocket slime
Or Pokemon Ranger.

Just remember that if you take pearl or Diamond, don't go underground since I think that is wireless, and wireless messes up the air plane's controls. I was on a plane once, and I was fortunate enough to sit near kids who were playing wireless. I warned them about what might happen, and they stopped.

If you're looking for addictive time-wasters, I never get tired of "NY Post Crosswords" or "Picross"

But long-term RPGs can definitely hold you over.

Last plane trip I took, I played Advance Wars DS the whole way.

Trust me. Try Final Fantasy I.
If you've played it back then on the NES, you will freakin' be attached from the Nostalgia.
and If you haven't played it.. I think you will still enjoy it a lot.

Definitely longer than 12 hours though. I'm going on a 12+ hour plane trip myself this summer, and I'm probably going to play FFIV Advance all the way.

you will probably only play for around 8 - 9 hours or less if you include meals and sleep. I had a 13 hour trip going back from the states, i probably only played for 5-6 hours. RPG's are the way to go.
