I'm looking for a decent free server. I've tried a few but they only allow a really limited amount of file types not including EXEs. I'm looking for a place to host all my utils and the R4 Commander boxarts, packs etc. Anyone got any good suggestions?

Not quite sure if this would be enough disk space, but check out 000webhost! It does say in the ToS:
"9. Account cannot be used only to store files."
But just throw a nice splash page on there and they should be happy! [IMG]

I use freehostia. I don't know about file types, but they've always reliably hosted PHP scripts and the like for me, and I believe they give you 250MB of space.

Well his stuff was on my server, before you ran it into the ground, so it is fitting that you tell him where to get new space [IMG]

I use them for my websites. 000webhost FTW! I can think of only 1 bad thing, is an account is either domain only or subdomain only, and cannot be changed. I don't know if they've fixed this, but they let you create more accounts anyway.

I've got one that allows files only and stores up to 1gig but it doesn't allow rar or exe files or the file type I use for my utils. Would you mind testing to see if it will store rar and exe files?

000webhost only allows up to 250MB as well.

    I like www.snakehost.com

    but www.halowebz.com

has waayyy more features, I'd go with halowebz if I were you -- the only thing is, you have to have so many visitors a month to keep your acct. up.

Really? I just signed up with that site this evening. So I guess that I know that it will be good, or else I know who to contact [IMG]

I always hate not knowing who to blame or congratulate when something upsets or pleases me [IMG]

Actually that reminded me, there's this really crazy way of storing .zip and .rar archives in images. It's called FUSION and it's great for hiding things too! [IMG]
(It's probably old, but I thought it was pretty darn cool)

Just a warning, halowebz was not my most successful project so I can't gurantee satisfaction.
