I've sent in my 3ds which is still under warranty.
It is home brew enabled and it stopped working in a way I couldn't remove/hide the home brew.

A quick web search points to my issue being a bad capacitor.
Does anybody have any experience with some good cheap 3rd party repair providers?

I can't justify spending much on this device.
I feel like I already played all the good 3d games and the hardware is just so weak/fragile/defective.

Thanks

Not sure what your issue is even after reading this tbh, but @testerfan is a guy I would recommend to you for fixing anything 3DS hardware related.
Talk to him in PM and see if he replies back to you, he's a chill dude.

I didn't really try to be specific.
Thanks for the recommendation.

The blue light turns on briefly but nothing else turns on.

I'm really hoping they can't look at my firmware before they repair the issue.
I'm also hoping they don't blame me for using a non Nintendo charger.
It's kinda lame of them to not include a charger and then claim that your warranty is invalidated if you get an affordable 3rd party charger. They don't even have a basic usb 3ds charging solution for power banks.

UPDATE:
My 3ds came back, with a new motherboard, no home brew and latest firmware.
I'm so sad.
At least they repaired it.
