    Depends on your needing:
As far as i know you have 8800GT so you can play games on 1920 res, so the first thing youll want is a monitor with this res not 1600.
or if you want this monitor just for movies than its aight, but check for lower MS.
    contrast is important 2.
and why do you want widescreen? [IMG]

Unless he's a really hardcore gamer, 5ms response time will go relatively unnoticed.

5ms isn't bad, it's just that you can do better with 2ms. hdcp lets you plug in hdmi connection via dvi.

check asus vw222u (has 4:3 scaling) or samsung 2253BW. both are 2ms with hdcp support.

    Not really.
A thousanth of a second is unnoticable unless you're into competitive gaming and have been for a long time.

Its not like that. The response time is the time between making an action and the monitor displaying it.
If the monitor has a large response time and you make a lot of actions, those action will seem blurry.
Like for example you turn around especially fast in an fps. You might miss some enemies around you because everything is blurred.
This is why its so important for competitive gaming to have a low response time. That and e-penis ofc.

What!?! HDCP lets you play protected digital content (eg, BluRay, HD-DVD and some download services) on your computer but both your monitor and graphics card need to support it.

I wouldn't trust the SCEPTRE monitor at all - check your local Best Buy or Circuit City weekly ads for a deal, and look up that monitor on digitalversus

that's another function of hdcp. what i was talking about is hardware, not digital media. hdcp is encryption for both hardware and media. you may only plug in a hdmi connection from a ps3 to a hdcp compliant monitor. plugging in a hdmi connection from a ps3 to a non-compliant hdcp monitor will just give you a black screen.
