So I'm going to London next weekend, and it'll be my first visit to the UK ever...
Besides the obvious (tower bridge, big ben, parliament, guards etc...), what do you think I shouldn't miss out on?
My gf is coming along, so a museum on the history of video gaming might be a little bit too much for her, but some sort of nintendo center kind-of-thing might work [IMG]
I'll be there from Friday Oct 23 morning until monday Oct 26 afternoon.

I always like to go to Camden Twon, some good stuff to get down there. Also some good galleries and museums there too.

I suppose the main trouble with asking such questions is most locals find the tourist traps unbearably boring (for the sake of argument I will spin it and say I am going to Brussels in the near future: what do you suggest I do?).
You did not mention the London eye which given it is spitting distance from Big Ben (turn around and look to your left when you are there and you will see it) and probably one of the more interesting things to do that might an idea.
I quite liked the science museum and natural history museum too.

Other than that I shall leave it to others for reasons hinted at in the first sentence (London trips for me are usually business, concerts, airport run/similar or going skateboarding).

thx, i was thinking of going to stonehenge, but it seems to be quite a trip from london...

about brussels, sorry, can't help you there because i actually dislike that city, but like you said: locals are not very touristy [IMG] (for the record, i live actually about 100km from brussels, so i don't really go there often)
but if you're into nature you can visit the "Zoniënwoud", there's also the atomium, nature museum, mini-europa (loved that as a child)... also some houses designed bij Horta (art-nouveau) which are often open to the public some days a year...

Thanks for the invite. I actually dated an exchange student from Belgium in my senior year of HS. The only thing i ever learned to say in Dutch was "Ich wiel spielen met yo burston" [IMG] probably horribly misspelled, buy you should be able to figure it out. Have a safe trip.

I've also wanted to go visit/live in England more than anywhere else in this world.

One day hopefully I'll get the chance.

    Have fun!

You mean Harrods and that place is expensive unless sanghoku is loaded. If you're ever near Bethnal Green (not exactly a tourist place), take a visit to the Museum of Childhood. (It has some video game items there). XD
