Gaming Going to buy a PSP tomorrow

First off, i should buy either a PSP 1000 or 2000, right? And in 2000, avoid those which have the same motherboards as 3000(How can i find this out?)
What things will i need to hack it? I plan on hacking it to play commercial games, no interest in homebrew.

Alright, I recommend the 1000. Better battery, guaranteed hack.

If you can get a 2000 with FW lower then 5.03, you can upgrade to 5.03, activate ChickHEN and get a homebrew app to check if your PSP can be hacked.

If you get a 3000 that's on 5.03 or lower, you can use ChickHEN and 5.03 GEN-C to play your ISO's.


Remember, NEVER GET A GO OR A 3000. (3000 only if it's your last resort and on 5.03 or lower)

From a mall called "Lulu Hypermarket" in Doha, Qatar, gaming isn't its main focus, but it does sell PSP and stuff.

@8Bit alright, i will try and get the 1000 then, what else will i need for hacking? Where will i be storing all my iso's and cso's, do i just need a standard USB for that? If so, will a 8GB one suffice?

And favorite gundam series would be 00 i guess, though thats really the only one i have watched, and i still haven't completed it

If you're going into a high street retailer you're only going to get a PSP 3000, and nowadays you're likely to be SoL regarding hackable PSP's.

You need to be looking for specific bundles or buying used now....

Personally I think the 1000 is too fat and heavy so you should get a 2000. If you do decide on a 2000 you should go to a place that allows you to return it if you say you don't like it, just incase it's not hackable.

For the memory card just ask a person working at the store you go to for a PSP memory card and they'll get you the right one. I use a 4 gig card, but personally I think it's too small and you should get 8.

EDIT and yeah if you want a 1000 or 2000 like xist said you will have to buy pre-owned.

That one you linked is the same I got (really, I got mine from amazon too), mine came with a low firmware version so I didn't need a pandora to hack it, but yours may come fully updated in which case you'll need a pandora. Ask the seller if it's not mentioned.
