the thing is, luma doesnt do anything for emunand users that any other cfw, including rxtools, does.
i'm still using some random version of rxtools and i'm on 11.0 and dont have any problems.

when people say rxtools us outdated, they're dumbly thinking this is like a system os, that needs updates to be more stable and less prone to malware attacks.

nothing stops working, everything should be fine instantly once you update.

to update, boot into emunand, enter system settings, check if the top screen displays RX-10.blabla
if so, continue to the settings and update option.
do not update from the homemenu, only from the system settings and only when you see RX next to your firmware.
Not true, Luma3DS has a ton of features that benefit both A9LH and non-a9LH users alike. Improved reboot patch that works with GBA/DSiWare, built in language/region emulation, on the fly patching of TWL/AGB_FIRM, on the fly patching of FIRM binary from NAND with no need for downloading firms separately, n3DS CPU clock, background update blocking, friends module patch for using online games on outdated firmware. And it's also the easiest to set up and use.
I've been satisfied with my RxTools experience, and switching to something else overloads me as I already have too many things to worry about and do, 3DS-related or not.

Is 11.0 the latest firmware, and does anything stop working by updating to it? Games, cia installers, backing up saves?

Also, does updating to 11.0 automatically allow one to go online without any problems? I have never tried before.
Luma3DS is very very simple to set up and use, don't worry about it. It's far easier than setting up rxTools. Simply place the Luma3DS files on SD and then load from preferred *hax entry point.
