Gaming God of War Collection 2 Controller glitch

Today a friend of mine told me on Skype that he has an issue with God of War Collection 2. When he starts the game his controller turns off and won't turn on. He says he only has issues with this game. So I tried a quick google search, but there was nothing about the topic. Thus, I offered him to return it to the store(Pulsar) and ask for a new copy. He said that it'd be better to find a solution without having to contact the retailer. Soooo, I'm posting this here. Is there any way to fix this?

Nope, the controller that came with the console.

My friend changed a controller setting in the PS3 menu and everything got fixed.

This seemed to be the same kind of issue as there is with GT5: the controllers have to be 1 & 2 before starting the game or else the controls will be messed up.
