Gaming girlfriend getting a 360 - two questions

1. Is it possible to gift XBLA games like on the Wii Shop?
2. She might not be able to get the redesgin model. If so she wont be able to connect wirelessly. She uses a usb adapter to connect the pc to her wireless network. Would she able to connect the LIve by plugging the ethernet cable directly into her pc or will she need to go through extra steps?

1) As far as I know there isn't, I may be wrong.
2) Ye this is possible, you would need to right click the wireless connection in network, go to shared and tick yes to sharing and choose local area connection. However this only shares your connection so the pc would need to be on if you want to go on xbox live so it's not the best option.

Well i was able to connect to live through my pcs ethernet port but you get a little bit more lag using it rather than straight cable

Your best bet will be to run an ethernet cable from the XBOX to the router. If she can't do that, she can bridge her PC's wireless connection to her PC's ethernet card and use a Crossover cable to share her internet connection.
