    by Sylus101

Sylus101 has released a card viewer for the popular TCG, Magic the Gathering. Right now it supports filtering by type, rarity, color, and supports all sets from Lorwyn back to Ravnica (currently excluding core sets). Downloads below.

Used to play this back in the day...

And instead of viewing the cards, make the game to where you can play the actual Magic the Gathering card game (VVoltz would love that, eh?)...

This is the first step towards a playable MTG DS. Amazing. I just hope someone keeps up with updates on this homebrew for the following sets.

It would be a Wifi game as making a MTG AI is difficult .

Anyway you sparked my interest and I'll start making a small text version ( I'll see what I can do about Wifi)

That's an excellent use for the ds. If there would be other 'library' programs for stuff like nds releases etc that would be gold.

I launched this on acekard rpg and it gives me screen with buttons (on touchscreen) but nothing more, no interaction, upper screen is black. Is it normal ?, does this program have that cards in memory or i have to find something in net.

Wifi is nice but I'd be happy with just wireless connectivity between two DSes

i think it would be awesome if we can get an apprentice/magic workstation on DS. having wifi or just local wireless to play against human opponent will be awesome.

Not to be a pessimist, but I highly doubt this is leading to a full suite for playing online; it would require an incredible amount of effort.

That being said, I look forward to future versions of this app, as a fully functional MtG dictionary would be quite awesome.

I have the first 4 complete sets at my house in Florida I'd be willing to go get and scan...
    *edit
well it has been a while but I forget alpha, beta, ... and then what ever came after that...there is a lot of the sames ones...I think I'd just be willing to scan the alpha series as it has pumpable ants and the assassin which were later removed due to the bad assness of the cards.

Yea I bought the set a long time ago from somebody who needed the cash for I believe $900... I don't remember if I paid that per box or for the whole set...all I know is I wanted the alpha and beta for nostalgic purposes. It'd be fun to play the game without the risk of damaging the originals...then again I have to see if they are sealed...for the life of me I don't remember if the sets were sealed... and if they are I am sure opening them would depreciate the value...again though...I'd toss the value just to play some classic MTG on the DS.
