Indie developer Black Forest Games will be bringing their 2012 Kickstarted hit title Giana Sister: Twisted Dreams to the Nintendo Switch. THQ Nordic will be publishing the port, subtitled Owltimate Edition, which includes not only the original game and all its DLC, but also adds new cutscenes, and five new levels to explore. Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams is a 2.5D puzzle platformer that originally released on PC as a successor to a Commodore 64 game, The Great Giana Sisters.

Welp, seems Portendo is indeed relevant.

I got the game on 360 and Xbone, it's not bad and I have to admit that I like it but... when is the switch getting proper games?

    Yes.
It was released on the C64 as a Mario clone.

So, Giana Sisters was first a SMB-clone for the C64 and MS-DOS, got aproved by Nintendo and is now on the Switch...

The Great Giana Sisters? As in the SMB knock-off by Rainbow Arts?

I remember seeing this box art somewhere and completely writing it off. It really is terrible. I then saw a video of metal jesus recommending the game and I wondered what that game was and how I had never seen it before. Looking for it now its still almost miss-able because of how atrocious the box art is haha

This series is steeped in history and tradition. I kickstart backed the heck out of it and oh my goodness do I find it a bland platformer. The character / setting changing mechanic is cool in look and concept but never got interesting imo. Never played the Owlord DLC or w/e.

What's up with Normal Giana's pose?

Given Giana's origins, this wouldn't be surprising.

    PORTEN...
nah, this is getting old even for me.
but in all seriousness, nintendo could put a requirement or something to third parties that they need to release new things instead of (quite) dated games that everyone already had the chance to play.

The gameplay of this installment distances itself from traditional Mario.

And yes, this was that game that had $40 Wii U physical copies, then $20 for PS4 a few months later.
