Christ, if six inches of serrated steel jutting out of my chest doesn't finish me off I'll be damned if I'm being taken down by anything short of a bullet to the head or a hero's last stand. Nothing else will suffice. I'm not being sent to the next life by a fucking virus. I'm not my netbook.

Dayuuumm. Best. line. ever.

Well, here's the news from Planet Blaze. A fair bit to get through so apologies in advance for the novel.

- Just returned from seeing new GP Dr Downing. I requested a transfer from Bodalia 'cause...well, Bodalia's a dick head that thinks you can walk off a broken back. Dr Downing took a look at me and he's concluded that when I fell, I severely damaged my Achilles tendon on the back of my right ankle. Because that's caused me to put pressure in the wrong places while I'm walking to ease the pain, it's caused damage to the rest of my leg as well. It's also why my left leg is hurting, over-compensating for the injury to my right. The damage to my arm he wasn't 100% certain about. He thought it might be another damaged tendon or something, but he wasn't prepared to swear by it, so he took a blood sample to test for any viral strains that could be causing it.

The chest pains he puts down to stress, which makes sense as they were present before the incident anyway. The dizzy spells...he's not sure, and he looked rather worried. I wasn't dizzy after I fell, which pretty much rules out concusion, it's instant regardless of how long it endures for. He said he'd have to get back to me on that as there's nothing physically causing it. No inner ear problems, etc. Will be revealed by my blood test, presumably.

He's signed a sick note authorising me to remain off work for the next two weeks from today, although he did say in the worst case scenario with this sort of damage it could be bad for months, and if I still don't show any sign of recovery after that, or if at any point the problems become any worse, I'm told to report to A+E immediately as the inexplicable dizzyness is worrying him. It doesn't trigger very often but when it does it leaves me damn near incapacitated. It shouldn't even be there, much less be this severe without any explanation. He didn't want to postulate as to what it might be, said that was unprofessional, worries the patient for no reason. He said he'd call me when the results of my blood test come back in a few days.

- Got to call my boss later. Should be fun. Called him yesterday to explain that my injuries still haven't healed and apparantly being off sick with a serious injury that would only be exacerbated by working shows a 'lack of commitment to the company'. Yeah, I'll come in and paralyze myself so your shoe sales get a quick boost, shall I? They really do sicken me. He's now threatening to sack me, which of course he can't as it's doctor's orders that I remain off work until I heal, and he knows that. He's demanding a sick note for my first week off, despite the fact that legally I can self-certificate myself for the first seven days of any illness, I don't legally need a doctor's note unless it goes beyond that, which I now have covered. I'm going to email head office about his attitude either way because I don't see why anyone that power mad should be allowed to keep their job. I'm not being threatened for being ill. I'm not being told I'm 'letting the side down' when I'm doing the best I can. I'm not being told that being unable to walk is 'no big deal' and that I should worry about the company's interests first and my own second. I think passing on the rather large folder of written complaints I have about the staff, the store, the health and safety breaches, the thefts, and the constant breaches of the staff's legal rights, handing that to the guy in charge should help. I'll probably not be working for JJB any more either way but what the hell. If I'm going down I'm taking them all with me.

- Didn't get back home til 3:40 this morning. Went into town on the bus yesterday to meet Kevin for a few games of Magic The Gathering, pretty painful journey but I'd rather be in pain with my friends than in just as much pain listening to my dad whine at home. We were just leaving the store and we bumped into some old school friends who invited us all out for a barbeque. That was cool, they even let me bring Heather along (we'd made plans for the evening). So instead of our usual routine of dinner and a movie, Heather and I spent the night under the stars in the park, with barbeque and friends. Granted, I'll be paying the price for it for the next few days, if not for the damage to my leg then for the inevitable kickback off that dodgy batch of chorizo that smelled of old socks.

- Have to call the job centre for a few things. One, I seriously doubt I'm getting sick pay from JJB, they barely pay us when we DO work. So I'll need to be claiming incapacity benefit until I heal so that I can pay my bills. Secondly, I require legal advice on how best to bring down JJB. And third, I need to find a new job as whichever way this goes, my time with JJB is coming to an end. Either they sack me and I sue on grounds of unfair dismissal, or I quit when I go back after I heal and they continue to be ass hats.

And since most of my news recently has been negative, here's some light hearted hillbilly ninja dumbassery to lighten the mood.
