I have no sympathy for murderers. I'm not going to buy into the left wing propaganda . The only thing that saddens me is that this wasn't taken care of years ago. The sympathy should go to the murder victim but I think people are kind of restarted these days, only giving sympathy to criminals.

If you use the words "conservative" or "liberal", "right wing" or "left wing", in serious discussion on a regular basis, you both have a stick up your ass and you are contributing to the division the "liberal media" and Fox News are pushing onto you... It might be a better service to your country to run for local office and actually take a step towards making a difference than to post on random internet forums regarding how Republicans hate the poor or how Obamacare is "socialist" and unconstitutional...

The rule is "innocent until proven guilty". There's is just as much, if not more evidence stating this man is innocent. I've been on jurys. It must be proven "beyond a reasonable doubt", meaning, even if I thought someone was guilty I'd have to vote not guilty if the evidence was not there.

People who defend the right to a fair trial are not soft on crime. If the wrong person is executed or imprisoned, the criminal is free in society and unpunished.

If Rick Perry presided over the killing of an innocent man through execution, should he die? Eye for an eye, no?

Veterans of Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison’s unsuccessful 2010 primary challenge to Perry recalled being stunned at the way attacks bounced off the governor in a strongly conservative state gripped by tea party fever. Multiple former Hutchison advisers recalled asking a focus group about the charge that Perry may have presided over the execution of an innocent man –Cameron Todd Willingham –and got this response from a primary voter: “It takes balls to execute an innocent man.

So...let me get this straight. This man had no evidence to prove HE was the one who did the killings, the witnesses come now and admit the police fucked with them "Put them under pressure to convict him", and you're all happy about this? The "evidence" couldn't prove it was him, the witnesses were all corrupt, the police were running on a bias, and his guilt wasn't proven beyond a shadow of a doubt. Great. Have fun having your rights to a fair trial taken away. This was only the beginning.

Not to sound like an asshole or anything, but he should have gotten a better lawyer. Life or death, get the best lawyer available.

Where is the Justice for me?
A plea from Troy Davis

Where is the Justice for me? In 1989 I surrendered myself to the police for crimes I knew I was innocent of in an effort to seek justice through the court system in Savannah, Georgia USA. But like so many death penalty cases, that was not my fate and I have been denied justice. During my imprisonment I have lost more than my freedom, I lost my father and my family has suffered terribly, many times being treated as less than human and even as criminals. In the past I have had lawyers who refused my input, and would not represent me in the manner that I wanted to be represented. I have had witnesses against me threatened into making false statements to seal my death sentence and witnesses who wanted to tell the truth were vilified in court.

For the entire two years I was in jail awaiting trial I wore a handmade cross around my neck, it gave me peace and when a news reporter made a statement in the local news, “Cop-killer wears cross to court,” the cross was immediately taken as if I was unworthy to believe in God or him in me. The only time my family was allowed to enter the courtroom on my behalf was during the sentencing phase where my mother and sister had to beg for my life and the prosecutor simply said, “I was only fit for killing.” Where is the Justice for me, when the courts have refused to allow me relief when multiple witnesses have recanted their testimonies that they lied against me?

Because of the Anti-Terrorism Bill, the blatant racism and bias in the U.S. Court System, I remain on death row in spite of a compelling case of my innocence. Finally I have a private law firm trying to help save my life in the court system, but it is like no one wants to admit the system made another grave mistake. Am I to be made an example of to save face? Does anyone care about my family who has been victimized by this death sentence for over 16 years? Does anyone care that my family has the fate of knowing the time and manner by which I may be killed by the state of Georgia?

I truly understand a life has been lost and I have prayed for that family just as I pray for mine, but I am Innocent and all I ask for is a True Day in a Just Court. If I am so guilty why do the courts deny me that? The truth is that they have no real case; the truth is I am Innocent.

Where is the Justice for me?

'Tis a sad day indeed. It looked as though he were truly innocent, and yet he is dead. Hopefully if there is a heaven or a hell, the people who knowingly put him to death for a crime he didn't commit will be tried just as harshly as he was. See you in another life Troy. R.I.P.

So justice should be dependant on the size of your wallet? You are a real piece of work

Well, to be fair to BloodWolfJW, its like my Civics teacher once said "A trial is basically a test to see who has the better lawyer."

Sad, but when you look at it, its kind of true.

G'night. I'm very tired.

Unless 14-year olds are allowed to vote in the US......

OT: One of the very reasons why I am against the death penalty, with lifelong imprisonent you can still reverse it. Let's hope his death was painless..... I hope this will spark a debate about the trial and the death penalty in general

So he deserved to die because he couldn't afford another, more notable lawyer?

I don't say this much, but seriously, shut the fuck up.
