    Geo Wars

    By sumiguchi and DayDream

    [IMG]Â[IMG]
sumiguchi and DayDream have entered the Dev-Fr coding competition with 'Geo Wars', a space shoot-em-up game.[title:Geo Wars]Hi,
Here is a game that DayDream and I made for this competition. It is a space shoot'em up game. You must battle through waves of enemies to save Trinity and all of humanity.

    Characters
There are two playable characters and you must progress through the game as both characters. (Progress for each character is stored seperately) There are some difference - primarily in the bombs. Alice has radial bomb controlled by the stylus and Mortymer has guided missles also controlled by the stylus.
The game is easier if you play as Alice but I think you can get higher scores with Mortymer once you master your bomb navigation technique.

    Modes of Play
There are 10 missions, 10 Zones and 2 training missions to play. Missions allow you to unlock new areas and upgrade your ship. In Zone, you always start with basic weapon capabilities and can *ahem* evolve by collecting power ups. Be sure to enjoy the stereo sfx with headphones. Audio options are in the pause menu during gameplay

    Evolution
There are multiple levels of evolution in this game. You will see it in the story and through some funny naming references, but also throughout the missions you will see you ship & capabilities evolve. In intense battles you will see the explosions evolve into massive blasts. Once you have upgraded your ship by playing through the missions, the upgrades persist with you - so you can go back and play Mission one with all the new capabilities. So in this way, the game really evolves to allow you to max out scores.

I hope you will submit your scores online to show your capabilities in case of a similar strike against Earth. Online Leaderboard

Please enjoy! Requires DLDI Patching[IMG] Download

As far as I'm concerned, this game has one (and only one) big problem. And the problem is that it has no flaws. Its perfect!

The graphics are top-notch, makes me feel like I'm playing a commercial game. The gameplay is fast-paced, fun and oh so entertaining. The sprites are great and the controls are smooth, well coordinated and good. The only bad thing about this game is that is has no bad thing.

I wouldn't mind paying 50 bucks for this game if it went commercial. Seriously, its that good. [IMG]

    EDIT: Grammer

This is pretty much perfect... although I'm having one hell of a hard time aiming with the stylus! [IMG]
...but I guess it gets easier over time. [IMG]

    Anyway, great game! [IMG]

Great game! I even managed to snag 1st place on a few stages, though I doubt it'll stay that way for long. [IMG]

Wow...It broke my save file...Weird. But yeah, good game...Besides this bug of course.

Sorry Ashura Zero, but I just nabbed first place on Zone 1, beating yours by a whopping 200,000 give or take.
    Yes, my name is Corey.

It appears the save is fine, but it isn't a 512Kb save so it seems the M3/R4 cannot read it.

Anybody got it to work on a slot 2 card? Specifically the m3lite perfect? I already patched it with chisms dldi tool and got black screens. Then I ran it thru DLDIrc and still black screens. Any help would be appreciated.

Works perfectly on mine: i patched it with dldi tools, transferred it on microSD using the "M3 Game Manager" (to avoid any annoying message on rebooting), launched it using the START button.
    Nice work indeed, congrats guys!

    really fun!

not as good as xbox360 version obviously but it's awesome considering it's on DS.

first homebrew to hold my attention for more than 30mins.
