Hi,I've updated to the final GEN-D3 release and have come across a small problem. The demos I download from PSN are not working. I use Game Categories but have been having trouble with categorising demos in the past (the refused to launch most of the time) so have tried turning it off but I'm still getting the same error code.
Has anybody else had this problem? I'm using an old PSP-1003 and a 1gb memory stick (hence why I have demos on at the moment)

I don't think demos work with game category's (because of the demo not actually being in the GAME folder itself)
Try putting the demo in PSP > GAME and see if it works.
If you have any plug ins enabled, disable them and try again

The Plugins I have shouldn't be causing any problems and I have been leaving it in the GAME folder as that's the only place they worked at all (comes up as uncategorised) Will try turning them off though.

I turned absolutely everything off and still got error code 80010013 when trying to launch it...

Well, let me guess you are trying to start Godeater Trial?
Same error for me, never used the Gamefolder Plugin before at all.

Team GEN also said that this demo is still causing problems in their latest news regarding D3. That's stupid, this was one reason for me to update.

This is off the original topic (which I have given up on for now deciding that it doesn't matter as I prefer having 2 PS1 games on my memory stick) but my copy of The Simpsons game on UMD is not working. Whenever I launch the game it goes through the loading and checking memory stick screens (although these only flash up for a fraction of a second each) before the UMD stops spinning. All other UMDs are working making it either a software incompatibility or a problem with the UMD. Does anybody know a safe way to pin a umd around in its casing to check for scratches?

I agree, no way to take it apart, anybnody know a good way to check for scratches? Something soft on the end of a stick to spin it around?
Also if anybody owns the UMD for The Simpsons and has Gen-D3 coulkd they try and prove to me its my UMD?

Try a cotton bud

Also, i don't see how The Simpsons wouldn't work, it can play on M33 without any patches

I know, hence why I reckon its a UMD problem. All other UMDs are working although most of these games are quite old... (all from the friend I bought my PSP off) 3.71 is the highest firmware on any of them.
Doesn't matter anyway, the game is very mediocre but it was one of the more interesting ones he sold me, most of the rest of them are SOCOM games

One thing that just occurred to me.... The sound on the 2600 sucked less back then the harsh sound we hear now is from infinitely better speakers we have now, back when the 2600 was new speakers produced a almost muffled sound, like CRTs made old graphics look slightly better.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I wonder if I could recommend that to some emulation devs that perhaps the sound could use some smoothing out to simulate those old TVs
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think a few of the early systems could benefit from that, at least up to the 8 bit generation, by the 16 bit generation I think TVs had gotten a lot better in almost every way

  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
it says it only works for the original R4, R4i Gold (r4ids.cn), R4iDSN (r4idsn.com) and Acekard R.P.G.
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:

Just give it a try, but honestly if you have a 3DS you can play DS games without a card just off the internal SD card
