A homebrew app so everytime you get a disc read error instead of having to get up and shut off the damn system over and over Like I am having to do make it so it automaticlly turns off.

People code things for FREE so you can play games for FREE

Code it yourself but I guess your too lazy to do that since you won't get off your ass to turn your Wii off!

i didnt read your post before it was edited but there is one thing that some people in the wii scene need to understand. Almost anything with the wii is possible but is it probable is the question. Yes making this is possible but see as when you load a game that screen you see about the disc read error is code generated by the game not the wii because after the game loads the wii nand almost completely shuts down. So to have the Wii reset every time that happens, every game you have you would have to reprogram to reset on disc read error and reburn them to another disc. All that work just to not have to get up and manually turn the wii off you tell me does that seem reasonable when that 2-4 months of research and programming could be put to better use.

Bad burned discs lead to disc read errors. As do using crappy medium.

Instead of treating the symptom, why not actually treat the cause?

You know it's possible to load games from USB drives nowadays, right? It costs a bit more than a stack of empty DVD's, but it's more convenient, reliable and allows you to be lazy to no end.

If that's too expensive, you can also buy a power outlet with an on-off button. If the cable on it is long enough, you can put it between the wall and the wii and still have that button within grasp. That way you can turn off the wii whenever the thing crashes on you without getting up.

get a clapper and plug your wii into it?
A what? *googles*
Oh...this thing? Yeah...that'll work too. And less of a "cable soup" than my solution. Oh, and it impresses people who come over in the process.

It sounds like fun. In fact, I can already see how things will turn out...

kbf: *claps hands*
wii: you called, sir?
smile.gif
*powers itself on*
kbf: yes. Boot me this DVD, will ya?
wii: I'm sorry, sir. I can't read this disc on account of it being dirty, pirated and broken in seven pieces.
kbf: hah...just try again!

*claps hands twice*
wii: *powers off, then powers on again*

*skip some more attempts*

wii: I finally got around to actually reading what's on this cheap excuse of a DVD. Want to play it?
smile.gif

kbf: YES!

*skip a couple hours of long, tedious gaming*

wii: Congratulations! You beat the highest score ever for this game! You unlocked the hidden pornography DLC for this game! Men now envy you and women find you attractive!

wii: *powers off*

Hmm...on second thought, this idea may not work out as well as it sounds.
