Geexbox and x264 files ?

    Hi all,

    I have been using GeexBox to stream avi and divx files fine up until now.

    However, I tried a an 'x264' file for the first time and it stutters and freezes constantly. Is x264 not supported by Geexbox (and Mplayer) ? The MPlayer website states "MPEG-4 AVC aka H.264" is a supported codec. Is x264 not the same as H.264 ?

    Also, does Geexbox play normal DVD films via the DVD drive or does it have to the stream the VOB files from somewhere else ?

    x264 is a very heavy file to decrypt. So the Wii most likely will not have the CPU to make it.

    Ah, ok. That explains why it plays fine on the PC.
