Hi,

I've been trying some cheats for Super Paper Mario for a while now and none of them are working, at all. I have verified that:

-Other games' codes are working
-The same method with any other game works
-The problem isn't with any single code, or any group of codes, I've tried many individual codes
-I have matching region and game (R8PE01)
-Ocarina and USB Loader both think that the codes are working (they report that the codes have been loaded)
-This isn't the first time that this problem has come up (here, or here)

Anyway I bought the game fairly soon after it was released and only recently backed it up. The backup works fine, but the codes do not. Please help. Thanks.

Oh I found some codes that seem to work with my version of SPM, but only these 4:

044D0438 0000270F

[Inf 3D]

[Coins]
024D0444 000003E7

[255 ATT]
044D0431 000000FF

I only tried the 3D one, which was the only one I was interested in at this point, but some of the others might be nice to use. Let me know if you are interested in building some codes for this particular version of the game. And feel free to post something if I missed something obvious and important.

Are there more than one version of SPM? I think I got an old copy and the codes on this list must be for a newer version because they don't work on mine. You start the game without a Pixl and when you try to change them it freezes. It doesn't matter what hooktype you use. I'm assuming these codes use the default VBI hooktype when they're supposed to work.

This game seems to have at least 3 different versions (1.0.0, 1.0.1 and 1.0.2)
https://www.gametdb.com/Wii/R8PE01

You can verify if your ISO is v00 or v01 or v02
open the ISO or the wbfs file in an hex editor and look at the first bytes.

5238 5045 3031 0002
TitleID 6 bytes (R8 PE 01 in ASCII)
Disc_number 1 byte (00 = first disc, 01 = second disc, used by gamecube games only)
gameversion 1 byte (02 = v1.0.2)
