Gaming Gears 2 golden Lancer

I used my friend's xbox live account to download the lancer to my other friend's memory card and then moved it to my hard drive. I can see it under Gears of War 2 in my system memory. It currently is not showing up in GOW2 but i have heard of this working for some people, does anyone have any ideas as to how i could get this to work?

I got mine through a link to the online marketplace, and I don't even have GOW2 yet.
I don't have the link handy, and I don't know if microsoft has blocked it yet.
Some free downloads have turned up with 99999 points as a pricetag now, so be careful.

Play on Live.
If that doesn't work, it's tied to your friends' gamertag.

You can use SPG method and it'll work just fine. Google it.

What you have to do is delete that gamer profile (and ONLY the gamer profile). After that transfer the golden lancer to your mem card. Take the mem card out and recover the gamertag from live. Simple.

Where did you get this info from? Can anyone confirm that this will allow someone elses lancer to work on another console without that persons profile being present?

I did it. It works.
