    Hi All,

I thought I would introduce myself and ask that someone had a general look at my sysCheck. This is the first and last question I will post in this section.

    My system:

4.3E soft modded with latest version of Modmii (d2x-V8)

    USBLoaderGX, Configurable USB Loader

DOL, IOS, Apps etc moved to FAT32 HDD
HDD - Seagate Goflex Desk, with USB 3.0 Dock, also purchased USB 2.0 / Firewire 800 Dock.

My main reson for modding my Wii, is that although I am now back in australia I lived over in the USA for 7 years.
I bought NTSC games back especially ones that the kids did not want to part with. I Also like the idea of the homebrew apps and various emulators available.

So far I have had an interesting time getting everything working properly. Initially almost every game that I had on my Ext hdd would fail to load ie would freeze at safety screen or would a couple of minutes into the game. After going through the modmii tutorial I was able to improve things slightly as in most games would freeze a few more minutes into the game. For a week now I have been trying to figure out a solution.

So far I had used USBLoaderGX and Config USB Loader with roughly equal success. I went out yesterday and bought a USB 2.0 / Firewire 800 Dock for my hdd. For those who dont know - in Goflex drives, the controller is housed in the interchangable dock.

A strange thing happened - with the USB 3.0 cable connected, USBLOADER GX loaded the games and apart from the freezing on 70% of games worked fine.
When I changed the HDD to the USB 2.0 / firewire 800 Dock USB loader GX now locks up on setting screen and upon start for every single game, requiring a hard reset. But now Configurable USB loader is working much better with probably a 85% success rate. (Driver - San Francisco and a few others still freeze).

Sorry for such a long post and if you would prefer me to repost this somewhere else just let me know and I will.

Well while usb 2 devices are usually perfered there is no real rule regarding compatability with usb loaders. Some devices work well with all , others only with some & some devices won't work at all . There is a list here but it might be outdated .

For gx loader I think it might not support your new dock but you can try deleting its settings & seeing if it opens.

For cfg loader it seems to be running well if only Driver is having issues as it is one of the few problematic games that doesn't work but if you aren't on the latest version you should go here & grab the latest .dol .

Thanks for your advise. I will reset the settings for gx loader and see how that goes.

The new dock supposedly has a standard seagate USB 2.0 controller onboard, But it seems to be too much of a coincidence given the timing.
