Hacking GCOS via Wii Gamecube Homebrew Launcher

Can you start GCOS(+backups) via the Wii Gamecube Homebrew Launcher?

You should test it.
I'm not trying the Wii Gamecube Homebrew Launcher unless I know how to install the normal MIOS.

Is it like the cIOS PatchMii where it detects if you have it installed and you can uninstall it?

Hm. this is in the readme:

The program let you choose to:
A: Install patched version of MIOS
B: Install unpoatched version of MIOS

CAUTION: I don't have a gamecube disc, so I can't say if gamecube disc is working again, when installing original version. But it should work as before.

Can you run SD-Boot with it? that would rock.

If that worked, wii SD support would be cool. bu i know GC software can't access wii hardware... but maybe with a patched MIOS?

Theory:
Put SD-Load on sd card.

Place gcos ISO in sd-gekko in gamecube slot.

Launch CGOS ISO, then launch copied game.



Then only problem:
This app patches the MIOS so that it canNOT play gamecube games. The wii could not play your backups. SOL until patched, sorry.


However, You could possibly use SD-load to play games off of an SD card.

Look, it got updated to version 0.2:
Changes in Version 0.2

1. Support for front SD slot.
2. Gamecube disc should work normally.
It only boots the homebrew if it finds it, and now it also can read from the front sd slot.
This means it could be possible to compile a version of sdboot that will read gcm isos from the front sd slot!
I think we will need to change dev1:\\GCGAMES to fat:\\GCGAMES.

edit: well it might not be possible yet still, the loading the of the executable into memory from the front sd slot is done in wii mode, prior to launching MIOS.
