Does GC homebrew work with Wiinja or CycloWiz? If so what can you recommend?

if you go to www.winja.com they have a downloadable version of GCOS which you can burn to disk.

Does that mean movie DVD support on the Wii?

its called the mfe distro: http://www.gc-linux.org/wiki/Mfe-distro

yes it plays dvd movies, but i think its hardcoded for the gamecube so it doesnt read past the 1.4gb mark [IMG]

I hope someone can modify it so it can read full dvd movies on the wii.

I've only skim-read that MFE site but it looks like it doesn't play actual DVD movie discs, just ripped AVI media files and similar. I'm not saying that's useless, it's just not quite as you described.

If it does play real DVD movies after all then I apologise!

Are there any good sites with homebrew stuff to download? Does this only involve mediaplayers and emulators?

Not sure, all I know is media players and emu's (or ports), but they really rock. Especially since the scene might come back alive a bit as things also run on the Wii. If you find any homebrew feel free to post it:

search for emulators created by 'softdev' he created nes snes genesis emulators and they are perfect.

and the mfeboot does play dvd's, just not menus but .vob files. You can test it in your gamecbue by loading mfe boot and then swapping for a dvd movie. Then you can play the first three vob files on the disc.

Is swapping possible? I thought that was a "No-go, this will kill your GC drive" kinda thing [IMG].

*Btw, can the Wii access the full drive when in GC mode? If so, that would be bloody cool [IMG]. Instant DVD playback for the Wii [IMG] .

yea why not, you stop the dvd motor by holdin left trigger, then swap discs and start the motor again by holding right trigger.

as i told before the wii cant seem to read more then 1,4gb in gamecube mode, or maybe because mfe boot is hardcoded for the gamecube maximum size of 1,4gb? I hope someone with gc programming experience can shed some light on this thing.
