As we can now view files within Wii ISOs, and as the update partition contains updated channels / firmware with more detailed version numbers than the Wii shows, perhaps we could add to the wiki's game list version numbers of all of the updates. Alternatively, we can make a new wiki page on this.

Here's an example:

Pokemon Battle Revolution contains these updates:
RVL-bc-v2.wad
RVL-Eulav_US-v1.wad
RVL-Forecast_US-v6.wad
RVL-mios-v4.wad
RVL-News_US-v6.wad
RVL-News-v3.wad
RVL-NigaoeNR-v3.wad
RVL-photo-v1.wad
RVL-Rgnsel_US-v1.wad
RVL-Shopping-v6.wad
RVL-Weather-v3.wad
RVL-WiiSystemmenu-v193.wad
IOS11-64-v10.wad
IOS12-64-v6.wad
IOS13-64-v10.wad
IOS15-64-v257.wad
IOS17-64-v512.wad
IOS20-64-v12.wad
IOS21-64-v514.wad

As you can see, thse are channels / data:
RVL-Eulav_US-v1.wad (I assume the EULA text)
RVL-Forecast_US-v6.wad (Forecast channel version 6)
RVL-mios-v4.wad (not sure - mii channel?)
RVL-News_US-v6.wad (News channel version 6?)
RVL-News-v3.wad (News channel, version 3, non-american?)
RVL-photo-v1.wad (Photo channel v1)
RVL-Shopping-v6.wad (Shopping channel v6)
RVL-Weather-v3.wad (Weather channel - isn't this forecast? perhaps non-american?)
RVL-WiiSystemmenu-v193.wad (system menu updates)

I think keeping this information in a centralized database would be very helpful. It should also aid in allowing us to figure out how to fix dupe channels and the like.

Another datapoint: Super Paper Mario had:
BOOT2-64-v2.wad
IOS11-64-v10.wad
IOS12-64-v6.wad
IOS13-64-v10.wad
IOS15-64-v257.wad
IOS17-64-v512.wad
RVL-bc-v2.wad
RVL-Eulav_US-v0.wad
RVL-mios-v4.wad
RVL-News-v3.wad
RVL-NigaoeNR-v2.wad
RVL-photo-v1.wad
RVL-Shopping-v4.wad
RVL-Weather-v3.wad
RVL-WiiSystemmenu-v97.wad

Of particular interest is that from Super Paper Mario to Pokemon Battle Revolution, WiiSystemmenu increased from v97 to v193.

As is typical in release cycles, each revision is not nessiserialy a visible version number change. ANyway, these datapoints show:

April 9, 2007: Wii Menu at v97
May 25, 2007: Wii Menu at v162 (Mario Strikers, EU edition)
June 27, 2007: Wii Menu at v193
August 27, 2007: Wii Menu at v193 (Metroid Prime 3, US Edition)

The more information we get, the better, I think at least. Opinions?

(All data show here is US release dates and US games unless specified)
