Any way to add stuff to already-posted news items, such as savetypes? I've noticed that save information is rarely posted, and since I use emulators a lot with code hacking I've got some of the savetypes figured out.

you could just post that information in the comments and im sure a mod would add it

That is a great feature

I always wished I could edit the data myself where there was error.
I didn't want to bother an admin to modify a tiny, not so important part of data (filename, savetype, etc.)




Is there any (new) CRC32 field ?

For everyone still thinking about Release number different from site to site, and Rename Dat not like you want to be, I made a script to generate Dat from GBAtemp database (DS and GBA).
But there are missing data on the database (the CRC). it's a hard work to add them, and new releases should have CRC added etc. I can have a script to add them, but I need to verify manually that all CRC will go to the good roms, but I miss some nuked roms to check them all.

It's not a new feature, just an asked feature but maybe will not be added if I'm the only one wanting it.




Anyway, If I PM an Admin, can I have access to the Edit feature ?
I'm working on Wiki and want to help the best I can.
The edit feature need approval too, or does the change is affected immediately ?

Just a question, is there any amount of posts or any other requirement the members must have to be able to use this feature?

I ask this because I went to the Releases Management and clicking in Add release just return a message that my rights aren't enough to use the feature.

You probably have to be a 'confirmed member', you have more than 100 posts.

Also, it would be nice if the author of the post was shown as the person who submitted it instead of it always being shaunj66 with a little text link underneath...

Although we didn't publicly explain the reason for it, I thought members like you would be smart enough to figure it out by themselves

If your own topic shows up on the frontpage, it means you can edit it and put whatever you want on the frontpage news. We can't allow members to have control over our frontpage. What if they edited their post and put porn pictures, rom links or even worse rick'roll?
That's why we have to change the owner of the topic, so it doesn't belong to a member but to an admin.
If you can think of any other way (or workaround) to solve the problem, please let me know
