I looked up GBAtemp.net via whois, and found about 4.4KB about everything, down the Costello's real name. Was this information purposely put there, or was it automatically submitted by your registrar (also in the file)? Just curious.

You have to put real info when you register a domain name... If you don't have domain privacy at least... And most people on the internet are hosted somewhere...

I see. I would have figured that since GBAtemp was big and all, they would have their own DNS servers.

    His name is Robert Paulsen.

Seriously now, should all that data even be accessible to the public? I thought accounts were "private".

Nope , I found Thierry Nedelcu as his real name. Also the domain is registered to someone in french , so I guess it's either him or someone from a provider or something. [IMG]

What does Costello's name have to do with anything?

Well, if you know a wizard's/demon's real name, you have control over him.

Costello, demon or wizard: you decide.

Lol, you looked up the Whois info. Well done. GBAtemp isn't illegal, so who cares about having your name in the registrar info. Also, it costs virtually nothing to hide that info anyway.

P.S. Some sites have their own nameservers, but that's not quite the same as a DNS server.

It is curious, I know a handful of people that do the whole domain by proxy so that their CBR info isn't on there.
