The vote for the best games of 2017 continues onward, this time, with the Nintendo 3DS. Though the Switch eclipsed the aging handheld this year, it was clear that Nintendo still had a packed library for the 3DS in 2017. Now it's time to answer the question of which one game reigns supreme, in the eyes of GBAtemp users!

I've yet to play Samus Returns (initially because of the Amiibo hard mode fiasco), but FE: Shadows of Valentia was just about what I wanted and how I wanted it, so it gets my vote, hands-down.

My vote for 3DS GOTY has to go to Mario & Luigi: Superatar Saga + Bowser's Minions. Despite the mouthful of a title, it's a really good game and a faithful recreation of every step, every Goomba stomp in the original!

That's the sole reason I've not played Samus Returns yet, the amiibo bullshit. Even if I could get my hands on the amiibo, I wouldn't be able to scan them unless I get some other expensive peripheral, or buy a new console...

There are saves online that helps out with that though, so that's what I'll use.

At least, there's a solution without amiibo.

I haven't play any 2017 3DS game this year.
All I played (along with Zelda on wiiu) is Picross 3D Round2 on 3DS. 2 games for all the year, this is a bad year for gaming for me
I hope 2018 will be more enjoyable.

I'm definitively in the minority but as far as 3DS games go, Monster Hunter Stories was a very unique RPG and I wasn't expecting to enjoy it this much.

One of the three remakes (Metroid 2, FE Gaiden or M& SuperStar Saga). I didn't played Etrian Odyssey V, so I can't say anything about it. US/UM as 3DS GOTY is a big joke. Easily one of the most disappointing games of the year.

it's the reason this year the consoles have separate polls....
pokemon always win and make shadow to better games. people voting usually didn't even play all games to compare and vote fairly, they vote like "I played only this one, I liked it so it's the best!".

it would be interested to know how many games the voters played from the list.
"I played all of them, and I prefer this one" is fair.
"I played two, and this one is the game of the year" is not representative, what about the one you don't know?

I never vote, I don't have enough background to choose from.
Metroid is the only game I'm interested this year.

voted for harvest moon because it's the best harvest moon game in a long time (IMO of course) and one of the games i enjoyed the most this year
