    Hello,

I'm planning to buy a Slot 1 Device soon, but I dont know wich one. I will wait for the reviews of them, but I still have one question:

Is there any GBA support by one of this devices?

    Because I really want this.

    Tnx in adv.

You will never be able to play GBA games off slot 1 devices. This has been explained a thousand times, use the search feature.

You know how the M3 Simply is called Simply? Well they said they would release the M3 Real. That's all most people know about it...

And there's really no other way to do this?
Like putting some kinda app on my Micro SD card, and then it can play GBA roms? (I know ridiculous, but you never know [IMG] )

And could anyone make a guess on when it comes out?

You missed a word, "magically". Seriously, why NDS doesn't play PSP games? We should just put some application for it!

Slot 1 is not accessible in GBA mode, so GBA games can only be played from slot 2. This is a fundamental limitation of the hardware, and it will not be "fixed". The DS already has perfect GBA emulation built in via slot 2, so it is extremely unlikely that anyone will write a GBA emulator for the DS.

Even if an emulator was written, slot 1 is too slow to host GBA roms and the DS does not have enough RAM to hold any but the smallest GBA games, so a slot 2 cart would still be needed.

    Ok tnx for your reply!

But I still have one question:

When will the M3 real come out?
I know it has not been announced or so, but can you make a rough guess?

My wild guess would be some time next year in the Spring. Of course, I have no credible evidence to back that statement up.

What I may predict (one of these):
*a slot-1 and slot-2 combo so you can play GBA games and clean NDS roms. Maybe they'll sell you the slot-2 device separately for people with simply. So your simple life of only DS games can be obliterated with the reality you have been so ignorant about. :-)
    *emulation (::ick!:[IMG]
*Just friggin' more features. The simple life on the farm is no more! The real is now. Nukes and CFCs and all. (please don't mind on what that means if you don't get it)

Is the DS Xtreme the only slot 1 solution with on board memory?

It doesn't have onboard memory, so to speak. It has NAND (which can't be used for GBA). Not PSRAM or NOR.

Most of the slot1 solutions have onboard nonvolatile memory to house the kernel/boot menu software (aside from one or two that just use the disk to hold it).

But are there any other Slot 1 Solutions that will have / have onboard memory like the DS Xtreme?

I wouldn't be surprised if the M3 team comes out with a Slot-1 G6, but nothing has been announced so far I believe. DS-X is the only choice if you want built-in flash.
