Hacking GBA save file?

My micro SD recently crapped out on me, but I was surprised to find that by running the 3-in-1 by itself it contained the save file I had been using. I'm wondering, where is the save file located? Is a backup made on the 3-in-1 or something? Is there any way to extract it from the 3-in-1? I'm afraid to switch games, for fear that it might delete my save data.

The current GBA save is stored in the 3-in-1's SRAM, and backed up to the memory card when you write a different game to the 3-in-1.

You can dump the data from the 3-in-1's SRAM using the 3in1 Expansion Pack Tool or GBALdr. This will give you a 512KB file, you'll have to extract the save out of there yourself.

Are you using the EZ-V to write games to the 3-in-1, or are you using a third party app like the 3in1 Expansion Pack Tool, GBALdr or NDStation?
