Hardware GBA Movie Player

So I found a GBAMP today for 50p and obviously bought it.
It even came with a 512mb CompactFlash card.

But now I'm not sure what to do, firmware-wise.

Wondering if somebody could give me a step by step.

I have one of these, it's been a long time since I used it though.
There is a firmware hack available to get it working as a slot-2 nds card for homebrew only. have a google for Chishm GBAMP hack or something.
You cant play commercial games on it (either nds or gba) but there are a handful of emulators that are designed to use it, nes, gb etc.
I never had much luck getting movies to convert properly for it, the GBA really isn't powerful enough for that sort of thing.

It kinda depends on if you're going to be running it in GBA mode or DS mode. With GBA mode, you're mostly limited to the GBAMP-specific versions of certain emulators (namely PocketNES and Goomba), while in DS mode you've got a lot more freedom for homebrew.

Technically there is a way to play some older commercial DS games, using a hacked version of a rom loader for the Max Media Dock, but I don't really have any more details than that. It's been a while.

For DS mode of course you will need some sort of passthrough device in slot-1. If you already have a slot-1 device then it can most likely function as a NoPass and you'll be set.
