I doubt anyone will help you because Zelda WILL come in English sometime. Games like JUS won't.

Making a worthwhile translation would take a lot more patience than just playing something else until Zelda is released in English.

Also, given how big Zelda games tend to be, it would almost certainly take more than 4 months to create a good translation patch. I guarantee that Ninendo's paid, full time localization staff will get it done first.

Look man, you're fucking spamming the forums test84. I've seen it and it's starting to piss me off. You're either doing this for post count, or some crap. IÂ bet you can't even code your way out of a paper bag. And if you do, skip down to the next paragraph. You know people like you would kill themselves if I took out their damn RJ-45 internet cables. The damn game is coming out in October, go get a job.

And if you know C++ and want to contribute to something, go listen to what the previous posters said, and translate a game that is most likely NOT coming here, such as Jump! Ultimate Stars. Christ sake's man.

Also, gathering information about a game that hasn't come out? Are you expecting a Nintendo Dev to slip in and just start spewing information for this "team"?
Dude, relax.

yeah, chill out, he aint doing so bad.

the idea has some merit, but i feel like most others that it should be spent on games that will not be officially translated.

Also nintendo's past zelda translations have been wonderful and i believ it would be exceedingly difficult to produce something of an equal standard, of which otherwise would go to waste.

if I answer you the way you talked to me, i would be like you.
So I forgive you, my friend. : )
you dont know me.
i didnt say anything to deserve such words, but I'm not angry.
and i believe this forum has good moderators and even if i was spamming, THEY would be they guys to tell me not to, for sure not with this tongue, and atleast giving a warning first.
post count? u kidding me? what i'm gonna do with my post count? if any moderators want, they can reset my post counts, or make it stop from increasing, what do u think my friend? we have a proverb in our culture which says "the sinner thinks that everyone is like him", hell with post count.
i'm not gonna answer you so i stop typing but if u dont like me (as u said i "spam" in other topics), you can simply ignore me, ok my friend?
I wanted to do something and gather some willing people to get something till the game comes out in English. Don't tell me to go and translate something else since and I'm not paid to do anything, i love Zelda and wanted to do something for fans, by fans.
lets be friends.

Others have already said this, I'll state it again...for Emphasis.

Anyone who can translate on these forums should be translating JUS since it will never come out in English. Zelda will come out in English soon. No one is going to bother translating it.

test84, I'll do this for you.

How about you play the game in Japanese, as I will be doing. And if you get stuck, I'll tell you how to do it. Also, if you want a piece of story, I can translate it for you.

However, I absolutely refuse to translate the whole game. By the time I do (not to mention my own work + personal reading translations for my friends), the US version will be out. If you want to me translate something like the Death Note game... well, I probably won't do that either. It's not so good.

So how's that? You can PM me if you are stuck or want a SINGLE piece of story (try to save asking for the long dialogs, not just "what did Navi tell me here!?")

I also saw someone mention how it would be easier to just learn the language.

Kind of true, to an extent. Pick up James W. Heisig's Remembering the Kana, and use it to teach yourself both Hiragana and Katakana. This way, you can download a good Japanese to English translation tool, and use your ability to read the words and translate for yourself. (I recommend Wakan for the dictionary... I'm using it for Chinese but it has Japanese too).

i'm suprised no1 has helped u on this, because there are some guides around for translating.

Translation or roms is not that easy a task when compared to fan subs/translations and the like.
Anyhow two guides, both incomplete but:

http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=48204&hl=
Many of the threads around on this section contain loads of useful info as well.

A tile editor editors small squares or pictures that go on to make up the whole screen. Either tileed2002 or tileed work for me:
http://www.romhacking.net/?page=utilities&...rder=&record=20

Linux I am not sure about (most tools are windows and dos only) but have a go: http://linux.gbadev.org/

VWF: variable width font: Japanese characters are all about the same width, non-asian tend not to be (think i l j !). Because most Japanese characters are all the same width they can all be given a set space (CFW: constant font width) but non Asian languages look nasty like that.

edit - here the thread i took this from
