Hacking Gateway and CFW but on different cards? Is it possible?

I'm using Gateway right now, but I wanna go to CFW, but dont want to lose possibility of using my gateway for some reason. I've got Old 3ds XL on 4.5 sysnand anf Gateway on 11.2. emunand - latest running on gateway. But if I pull off my sd card i basically have a 4.5 sysnand. If i use different sd card for CFW (Luma) and i will install it, did it update my sysnand? Or if I remove sd card with CFW did I still on 4.5 sysnand? And the last question - can i have two sd cards (one with gateway and one with CFW) and simply switch it if I want to play games that requires 11.3+?

PS: that is my first post, but i'm looking for this forum for veeeery long... Greatest place of all

You can keep your emuNAND at 11.2 for GW, install B9S (following the instructions for dual booting GW/Luma with B9S that can be found on this forum), update your sysNAND and use that for Luma only. Be careful not to boot an updated sysNAND in GW mode though as it will wipe B9S, and similarly never update your sysNAND in GW mode.

Hmm... So if i install CFW it will update my sysnand on motherboard? It is not like with gateway that when I remove sd i still be on 4.5? It will not be trouble for me to have 2 sd instead of 1

If you update your system you update your system, doesn't matter what SD card you have in the console. With B9S you can have your sysNAND on 11.6, but keep 11.2 for Gateway emuNAND since they never gave support for anything higher.

Ok. I was confused with term CFW SYSNAND. So only option for me is dual boot. Thanks for reply.
