Hacking Gateway 3DS working on the New Nintendo 3DS.

It DOES have region free and .cia support. It may even have emunand, all we know for sure is that the "beta" that sonyUSA had didn't have emunand.

Gateway is more than just region free, CIA support, DevMenu all stuff that opens the system's full permissions. I guess if you're not a techy person then you won't understand it.

Despite the wait, GW made the ballsy move of placing everyone on the same boat. So now they're the only ones with so much features + coverable FW range. That looks VERY WELL on a feature set, and you can't blame'em.

Once the update is out, Sky3ds will look like an overpriced POS. :/

Yes, the problem is, the more time passes harder I find it to believe that there is a FW at all. Their behavior is EXACTLY how someone who doesnt have a "product" lies about it and makes up stories as if they do. I understand that reputable sources confirmed it, but reputable sources are sometimes wrong as well and are human just like the rest of us and can be deceived or could be in on it. I just dont see any reason for them to act the way they are acting!

I am hopeful, but my hope is dwidling. I am afraid that here we are, saying "They are working on it, and every minute its delayed they are making it better"; however they arent doing jack shit, and there was never a FW and never will be. I hope thats not true; but damn it, there is only 1 reason I can see them behaving like they are, that is if they are just a "front" for the hack. Someone else is actually developing it (and the original too) and GW just packages it up and markets/sends it out and provides support. And the reason I say that, its almost as if the person working on it keeps telling gateway "we're almost done" and Gateway relays to us "few days", etc.... call me crazy, but thats the ONLY reason I can think of they would act like that (unless ofcourse its all a charade and there is no FW).

But all that still won't hardly matter without emunand. I don't even think we can have DevMenu without Emunand?
So unless they want to release an update showing less features than their video did, this almost guarantees an Emunand in the public release.

I don't know about that. Not too many people worried about installing WADs on their Wii once it was proven to be stable enough.
I would guess the same would happen on the 3DS.

I think the sales team is not really kept in the loop. The information they have is mostly based on probably outdated status reports. Their support just sucks because apparently there is no real communication between developers and sales/support staff, which is why we got shitty responses in the first place. That is my assumption.

Its not that I am not techy, is that i have zero use for those features. Because you know what? Most of the time features like that are "nice to have" and on paper sound great, but in practice most people never use them. Now, I dont want to be selfish and assume that because I have no use for them noone else does, no I understand that people use them. But I think most customers would be satisfied with initial release with limited features, that can be added later. Best of both worlds.

i know there is no difference if you use the class 10 in the 3DS it self ( OG 3DS use Class 4 and 3DS XL use Class 10 SONY ( 30 mb write ) and i can't see any difference

there is a big difference in writing and loading speeds. If u decide to load up to 4gb big games (3ds of course) then the loading speeds may differ a lot. also when u r copying the games from ur pc onto ur micro sd/sd.
So I always recommend in buying a class 10 card, since the difference in cost is not SO BIG.

I might add be careful there are many fakes out there. I bought a Sandisk Ultra 32 GB from Amazon which I suspect is a fake now... (only about 20-27 MB Reading and about 20 MB Writing)

Why would you want less anyway? The price difference isn't that much either. I'm just as much wanting this damn release to happen myself. I still wouldn't just throw the GW because they keep putting off, even as frustrating as it is. Issue with the other cards is, there's no OSD so cycling through games will just get tiresome and I'm sure that button/switch will get jammed pretty quick.

nah, its not a fake...-.-!
it also depends on many factors itself. Did u use USB3? Did u use a good hub? Those all take impact in the speed buddy... -.- also those 30MB/s is only reachable in optimized environments. Its kinda part of their marketing strategy.

In comparison, if u would use a Class4 Card in the same environment, you would also never reach the stated high peak speed/write rates.

27MB/s read and 20MB/s write? Sounds about right, Romsstar. I think you might just be bottlenecked by your port rather than your card being fake... but I can't say, 'cause I don't have it here with me
