I think it was either a header injected .3ds file renamed to .3dsx or a .cia. .cia's work online regardless of header, and there are supposedly pre patched .3dsx files available online.

Well, practice some google-fu, that usually helps find things online.

• Inject header into .3DS and rename extension to .3DZ. Copy onto Red Cart. (header injection necessary)

OR

• Convert .3DS --> .CIA. Copy onto internal (micro)SD and install with DevMenu (header injection not necessary)

OR

• Dump a game with the GW dumper. Rename .3DS to .3DZ. Copy onto Red Cart. (header injection unnecessary)

You're confusing .3DZ and .3DSX

.3DZ is an online-enabled ROM file.
.3DSX is the homebrew executable file format for Ninjhax.
