No, we still have to wait for the release. Some people assume that it will but it's not confirmed.

How about the idea of writing an open letter to Gateway?

We can not demand anything, but we can ask for a
more precise communication regarding the release date.

We can also ask at the chinese duowan forum if they would
like participate in this.

If enough people sign with their username, maybe this will
change the situation.
Not only for this update, but also for future updates.

I don't want to experience such thing again,
but I want to use my GW card for a long time.

May I suggest a Change.org petition. It is free and a link to the petition can be posted here and also emailed to friends, family and associates. It would be really interesting to see how many people sign it. I would volunteer but I started happy hour and my my grammar is not the best under the influence.

Why I'm in western?

At leats you are in Canada ... you have more chance to work in NOA and change something , i'm in Brazil and I can't even get the portugese translation athat are made for portugal on EUR versions, and they don't even care to suppor us with good prices and content at eshop...

the problem is they making nintendo a segmented undertaking, with diferente visin and interest between the regions, not and big and united one like sony or microsoft just to you thik about: There are no 2DS with JPN region , I think also chinese.. but have korean, It's stupid making a console for 10 years youger kids if the games are generally made for 10 years or older ...
I hate NOA so much , sadly I don't have enough money to gert an japanese or europen 3DS and just ignore waht happens around here xp

Well.. Nintendo DOES market their 2DS towards children who aren't old enough for 3D.

Exactly. Kids play video games earlier and earlier these days. I started out at like 2yrs on the Atari 2600, but that was rare back then; it was mostly parents and preteens (mostly preteens). Skip ahead 30 years. Gaming consoles exist for multiple generations of gamer, different target audiences. 2DS is a way to market to the kids, and the parents can be assured the kids won't break it in half or irrevocably mess up the 3D slider.

Times change. Nintendo has kept up. I'll give them that.

I'm right at the 10 mark BTW, and have a normal 3DS.

I'm not saiyng that 10 years or youger should not play games, but in general the games are rated by ERSB to 10 years or more, so it's pointless making a console for gamers above this mark

(I think that it's stupid enough to put the notification that the game are " only for 3DS, also works on 2DS!" since the 2DS is told that it do teh same as 3DS without the 3D function ... or atleast give the product a less stupid name like "3DS mini" or "3DS for your careless kid!"... but I'm not sure if they think that the public is stupid, or if they are the stupid ones lol
well enough of hate I think .... I just wish I could do something more for everyone, not a just a selfish like getting a gateway for me and doing what I dream for but who don't ahve can't do the same xp

the bigger difference is that atari was made to work forever, nowadays consoles are made to last at elats his generation with full usage , sice they plan to make a new version sooner possible or that you break it and just buy aother :v (and I heard that the screen rarely survives a fall :v )

And well, nintendo (the base, japanes one) don't focus ons elling to kids like american/western ones does ... I don't know I portable gaming as a high technologything XD I would give a kid an hoem console until it get caring enough with the stuffs to get a portable :v but this is my opinion as a gamer that know more about this word and don't see it like a simple toy... :/ also if they break a 3DS they would srtar to be more caring about their game things? XD idk but when my megadrive had a problem when I was kid I got desperadte haha but the mostly careless thing i did was spinning a tamagochi on my finger , it flew away from my finger and broke the screen .. since that I never cared bad of an eletronic device lololo

Well, it's as kids-proof as long as the kid does not on drop it or dunk it in water because "it was dirty". Believe me, I know of someone who did the latter with her DS.

this is one reason i tell taht this kind of tecnology shouldn't be treated as toy for kids :/
I made a lot of stupid stuff with vidoegames whe as kid so I understand that sheet happen XD but it was my big bro's consoles, he had age to know the care these stuff needs...
