As more time passes, I get more and more suspicious of Gateway trying to milk all the money they can and run. Although, the delays have happened before and they have shown a video as proof. I still can't help, but feel something weird is going on with the "soon" and "in a few days". It's like they are trying to string people along and get them to buy Gateways. Just give us a concrete date! Damn!

Why would they run away when they're making money. Would you run away from a successful business lol

Yeah I sometimes feel the same way, but in reality these things have happened with GW before. The truth is, they're a foreign company and communication isn't easy for them, so they sometimes seem insincere.

The lack of an event doesn't necessarily has to have bad consequences.
1) Martys dad didn't get hit by the car (= Became way cooler in the result)
2) Stopped robbery (= Family wasn't ruined)
3) Rescued teacher instead of letting her die (= Doc finally found love)

Also: Saving someone you barely know = Seeing your childhood friend being killed over 100 times.

But, you all were too busy hating on Sky3ds and other products that actually exist versus picking up an existing alternative and enjoying your holiday.
While Gateway worshipers/fanbois were spending all Christmas and New Years hitting the F5 button and waiting to exhale(tm), the rest of us open-minded gamers were playing games!

And, yes I also have a brand new gateway card sitting in the box.
But, im not waiting for anything.

Why?

Because, my thought is if Gateway HAD the capability to truly do what they are claiming to do quickly,
IT WOULD HAVE BEEN DONE BEFORE SKY3DS ANNOUNCED THEIR CARD!

Suddenly, they have a new 'breakthrough' when competition arises.
You guys called Sky3DS 'slimy' for having a product that actually works on the LATEST firmware.
But, the Rick-rolling you guys are getting now is much much worse in my opinion.

Gateway has controlled you. They caused you not only to fully enjoy your device right now.
But, they also successfully kept you at bay from the competition.

What are you talking about? Yes, there has been a slight delay, but they've said it will be released during the early days of 2015.
And if I'm not mistaken, we're still very much inside that time period.
If you think about it, it's not that bad. It's not bad at all. It's just us that make it seem more dramatic.
And none of those 600+ pages will matter after the update gets released in a few days (or hopefully, hours) from now.

It's only natural to doubt something that would seem superior to everything that is currently on the market, and I give you that, this "sudden" breakthrough thing was really a bit fishy,
but even before Sky3DS they were constantly hinting on some "card up their sleeve" and things like that. Maybe they just didn't want to go all public with it that soon and Sky3DS pressured them into it,
and yeah still having no update really kinda sucks but for now we have no reason to suspect this has been fake. While it really put a damper on Christmas and New Years eve, it hopefully will make up for it
with all the features 4.5 has to offer because that's what we've been promised and if that all will be true, Sky3DS can't keep up with that. But the scepticism is natural.

But let's think of it: If it was all a clever scheme to hold us from purchasing the competition, what will GW have won on this in the long run? Ok they succesfully ruined then the Christmas sales, which are with no doubt kinda big.But if they don't deliver that update really soon, people will start switching over to Sky3DS either way. If they don't deliver something they're screwed. If people didn't go to competition now, they can still do so, and the GW team will have lost credibility forever. They would cause themselfes bigger damage with this than their competition.

I've actually somewhat enjoyed the wait. Sure we all really want gw to come out but this thread has been awesome at times.

One thing is that sky only offered roms. I want more than that. I want the homebrew, the .cia's region free ect.
Another point Is that gw seem more reliable. I fear sky will try to create a second cart for N3DS exclusives or something. Their willingness to sell unfinished un editable products is disturbing. Within one month, they had released a second cart. GW on the other hand has sold me a cart that has been in use for 18 months so far. I can easily swap between my 4.x an 9.x console.
There is more, but it's getting tedious repeating myself over and over.

I admit, I'd be lying if I said I knew the wait would be this long, but that wasn't what worried me. What worried me was the feeling of uncertainty as to when it would be released.
