1. They never once issued a release date of christmas to their fans. They said they would aim for christmas but it may be later than that.
2. They are now saying it will be a couple more days but before the end of the year (they've said it in quite a few emails now).
3. On top of all this, they've shown a concise video of the new update working and have a proven track record of great results.
I honestly don't see an issue here. Look at the recent update for Dark Souls PC to migrate from Games for Windows Live (unplayable shit) to Steamworks (playable) - it was scheduled for mid november as a projected target. Bandai Namco missed that target, and ended up releasing it in mid december. This is not a rare occurance. Shit happens, and Gateway is a far smaller team with far less resources.
But of course, many people don't look at the big picture - instead it's all "BUT I WANIT NOOOOWWWW GATEWAY ARE FUCKING IDIOTS GAAAHHH"
