1. They never once issued a release date of christmas to their fans. They said they would aim for christmas but it may be later than that.

2. They are now saying it will be a couple more days but before the end of the year (they've said it in quite a few emails now).

3. On top of all this, they've shown a concise video of the new update working and have a proven track record of great results.

I honestly don't see an issue here. Look at the recent update for Dark Souls PC to migrate from Games for Windows Live (unplayable shit) to Steamworks (playable) - it was scheduled for mid november as a projected target. Bandai Namco missed that target, and ended up releasing it in mid december. This is not a rare occurance. Shit happens, and Gateway is a far smaller team with far less resources.

But of course, many people don't look at the big picture - instead it's all "BUT I WANIT NOOOOWWWW GATEWAY ARE FUCKING IDIOTS GAAAHHH"

Oh well this would get a little bit technical and this is also not exactly the area I'm responsible for.
Let's just say we have an awesome programmer and he pulled it off :)

True. It would still provide better conversation than whatever we've been having for the last hundred pages LOL.

But hey, props to you and the team. I (and tons of people) weren't expecting a video, much less an official statemente saying things are going well. So this really is a surprise.

i don't like the sky3ds team for their original cash grab tactics, if they would of released the product from the get go with no limit i might of respected them to a degree, but due to the original scheme they had going and the fact they released a new revision so soon after i wouldn't buy one.....that being said the template file has already been "mapped" so if you really want you can make your own compatibility fixes, needing their tool doesn't mean they can just suddenly say "oh we will keep game x or game y hostage", lets face it i hope they learned from the 10 game deal that the community will always find a way if you try screw them over..........but imho the non up-datable card is the bigger killer, at any given time nintendo can block the card, and you can be sure they would only either drop support or release a new revision with refined emulation

TL;DR i dont trust the sky 3ds team and have more faith in gateway's team to pull out all the stops to support their customers for the long term, even if its delayed, at least its not just "f* you unless you pay us more money"

yeah but gateway was always exploit based so it was open to expansion, with cart emulation, that's all you ever have, cart emulation, unless the keys are leaked to sign homebrew/romhacks to register as legit games, thats all it will ever be
