Hacking Gateway 3DS working on the New Nintendo 3DS.

Curiously they did wish us Merry Christmas last year :/

And that's what I don't get. I mean the additional features the GW has are great, but to be honest, for many people it won't even matter anymore (Because they missed Christmas and many went to Sky instead).
If they'll release that 9.2 update, people'll be like:
"Big deal, Sky3DS does that already and runs even on 9.4.".
Sky3DS released an update on 24 and 25th even. In China it's 26th already and not even a notice from the GW Team. Nothing. NOTHING.
Gotta say, the Sky3DS at least gets more sympathy points from me right now

They're probably still trying for a release. Lots of work outside of the exploit. Tutorials, download links, website rework, etc...

I doubt that. I think they just stopped caring and think "We're so great, big deal if we release it after Christmas". It appears to me as if that new exploit they've found has given them some sort of god complex.

for some reason i doubt many people just went "thats it its christmas time to order sky3ds".....yeah sure some people might of, but with the release "promised" for within the next 6 days.....you would have to be pretty silly to rush to sky3ds for the sake of a few more days waiting

Sky3DS at least supports their product now because it has a chance of selling now. Good for them, at least they're quick to update their stuff.

I can't play my Japanese imports with a Sky3DS.

"soon" and "just around the corner", aren't exactly deadlines....in fact they can't really be used to measure time without context, where as "before new year" is a deadline, people are free to buy what they want of course, but so far gateway haven't broken any promises, they only said they aimed for Christmas, not "before Christmas"

As I understood with the video, they only confirmed Region Free in general (meaning with roms), but not with Retail Games?
And I'm most certain it's only a matter of time till someone writes a "region free patcher", which will just patch any rom to their desired region.

I doesn't matter if people went on buying a Sky3ds over GW. Sooner or later Sky3ds is gonna be patched and its gonna be a dead product, when that happens all the one's who were impatient enough to buy a Sky3ds will spend an extra $70 on gateway. Either way GW are gonna get their "lost" money.

if you mean for sky3ds.....erm nope, games are signed you cant just edit them and run them without some sort of exploit to back it up, its already known exactly how to edit the region of a game, its perfectly doable using gateway (although pointless as the system is region free to begin with), only hope for region free on sky3ds is if you stay on 9.2 and smealum releases the region free hack he said he *might* be able to do with ninjhax

and if your staying on 9.2, well sky3ds looses its main selling point of running on 9.2+
