I'll need to convert games to something to put on the red cart's micro sd? Or it's just download, put them on the SD, make the exploit when gateway launch and voila?

I received my japanese N3DS on 9.1 today and i want to be as ready as possible.

Just download and transfer to micro SD. If the rom is bigger than 2GB you have to use the tool provided to split it.

I think you mean that if you are using a FAT32 SD card and have a ROM bigger than 4GB it will need to be split.

If you are using SDHC use FAT32
If you are using SDXC use exFAT
(Keep in mind, that's only for the red card. I explained above what to do for 3DS.)

FAT32 has a maximum file size of 4GB so yes you will need to split the file.

You can but it is not recommended by Gateway team.

If the new file created is below 4GB then yes it should work.

no, just trim them, there are no 4GB games that can't be trimmed to fit on a fat32 formatted card, but you can use exfat on any card you like doesnt matter if its SDHC or SDXC.....the gateway card accepts fat32 or exfat, but the 3DS will only work with fat32

This 32gb sdhc card will be used on gateway so i will use exFAT to don't worry, thank you you all guys! o/

There's "some why" they don't recommend we trim games?

If the card is going into a Gateway you can use exFAT.
If the card is going in the 3DS you must use FAT32.

You can use exFAT on red card. But the 32GB card, did it come preformatted as exFAT or did you format it as exFAT and it came out of the factory as FAT32?
