Don't misunderstand me. I'm a fan of the Gateway team. A huge fan, for many many reasons. This is the cold hard fact that seriously sucks. Sky3DS delivered but Gateway didn't. Heck, they even delivered a second hardware revision! It doesn't matter on what ground they did it on, but it's out and there's absolutely no limit on them. It sucks to press the button twenty thousand times, but at least there's people out there playing games like they wanted while we, "patient" users, cling on to terms like "multi-rom" , "region-free" and "CIA"s as if it's some sort of mantra that keeps our heads leveled.
F*cking ludicrous.
And here we are again "after GW releases it". The point is we don't know when this will happen. It very well might still take months, for what it's worth.
The last time the GW team tossed out a soon, it took three months. Nobody will still care for GW after three months, heck even after one month nobody will anymore.
Not with alternatives around which deliver the main point people buy this for: Playing games.
that's what people always say. and it's not wrong. But in the end, people still go after what they think it's best no matter how long it takes.
If there's no real competition (I mean with similar features), people will still go back to GW even after using something else for 6 months or more.
I'm not saying I agree with all the wait neither am I a GW-obsessed fan. If I think they're the best it's purely due to their track record and their features. But if there was another one with the same or more features available, I would have no problem saying that one is the best.
My point is that if there's no evolution with the current flashcarts, people will still go after GW if they release the support in 2016.
But I think it's unlikely that there won't be any evolution. Sky3DS made their cart already compatible with 9.4, you gotta give them credit for that.
I think there will be evolution, there is already. They need to hurry, or the innovators will be at the losing side.

Don't misunderstand me. I'm a fan of the Gateway team. A huge fan, for many many reasons.
My interests in GW releasing the 9.2 update go further than selfish reasons playing games. I respect that they try to deliver quality work, but they have to be aware of the fact that there's competition out there and they can't take things as slow as they used to.
well.. I have a hard time thinking about Sky3DS as any kind of evolutionary team. The only evolution they make is with colors and only when they really have to. Otherwise it just doesn't seem they try to improve.
Try explaining that to the people who are buying the cart as we speak because they can play games with it now and not in some distant future promised by the Gateway team.
The bitter truth is: Sky3DS are the first who managed to pass that 4.5 hurdle. And the Gateway team simply miscalculated, they thought there would be a lot of time, they didn't expect any competition,
they are clearly not prepared for this. This is what caused the situation. They try to catch up. It's simple. They want to release an update that will blow out the Sky3DS release out of the water.
But the truth is they don't have the capacities to pull that off in the time we expect or wish. My guess is, they don't want to release something that will be, in their eyes, inferior
to the Sky3DS cart. That's why we still haven't seen an update yet.
does anybody know if its safe to use a 3ds home menu theme on emunand? I want a way to differntiate my regular sysnand with the glorious emunand
Ebay. Ebay is global, you can search for sellers only in Spain (or might be cheaper from USA/Aus IDK) I got a 32gb Samsung MicroSD (up to 48mb/s transfer) for 20AUD locally in Australia free shipping hhueheuheuh.
Yeah, I don't deny that Sky3DS might be selling more right now.
What I'm saying is not concerning any flashcart in particular and just about the 3DS Scene in general, I don't think it will be Sky3DS team making the Scene evolve further than how it is right now.
Oh I agree, but I think it won't be the flash cart manufacturers in either case.
It will be just a matter of who will provide the better ground for hacking/evolving/debugging/programming.
Gateway has the bigger potential, indeed, but it won't matter if you have to get hands on that 4.5 3DS first.
It's an expense that not everyone is willing to take.
It might be ironical, but those ~200$ you need for that 4.5 3DS, currently might hinder evolution.
part of the reason why this waiting is getting people nervous is because they DON'T KNOW yet how gateway managed to support 9.0+ firmwares, how did they do it without the ds profile exploit or extra hardware ?!!! the longer the wait is the more people will start to doubt if gateway above 4.5 is real.

Exactly. Like I said before, my hopes are for the 3DS scene to evolve in a way that it doesn't rely on flashcarts. But that's hard. Even harder than waiting for Gateway. lol
Yes they did, but Id rather eat for a whole year than one meal if you catch my drift. I mean I can see everyone is hyped and excited about the release but the games wont go anywhere.I believe I didn't, just went ahead with my opinion based on your last sentence: "Truth is: I genuinely hate Sky3DS but they delivered and Gateway didn't."
Well it sure is real.
Just.. Why so long. Lol.

That means Gateway can not be "leading the innovation"
